Any workarounds for 64-bit, or do I need to unearth my old clunker in
order to play this game? I have Incursion on the clunker, but I
generally find clunking obnoxious. I'll still put up with it in order
to play, though.

Have you tried running it/what's the actual problem?
Works fine for me, and I'm on 64-bit Windows 7...

64 bit Win 7 home, here, but if you guys are on Win 7 64 bit then it's not Windows giving me problems.

At first it warned of resolution issues, which I fixed by changing the windowed-mode window size and the font size.  The real rock in my shoe is that when something in the Incursion window should change (character movement, selecting a different menu/option), it either does not change at all or only changes in part.  Often it will continue to display image and text from windows in the background after loading.  The top half of the window seems to be the most prone to failure, while the bottom-left quarter is mostly accurate to the selections, other than some leftover text at the end from the previous selection.  The bottom-right quarter does what it wants.

The updated text does appear if I click and drag the Incursion window, but that only makes the window display correctly for the situation rather than fix the problem.  I can provide screenshots if it helps, but I wonder now whether it might just be hardware, since it works fine with your operating systems.  I had similar issues on my old laptop, but got around them by making sure I was plugged in with high performance power options set during play.  That does not help here, and neither does any combination of power options or plugged-in status.

Maybe it is just the hardware.

I had an issue that may be similar to yours:  I noticed the in-game display seeming to update after WAY longer than it should ever take a very new PC, so that when I'd for example hit the down arrow to choose an option in the main menu, it'd take up to half a minute for this to register visually.  So far, the only way I've been able to fix this is to be sure my laptop is set to export video to my second monitor as well as the main screen--I even have to do this if the laptop is on its own, not at all connected via HDMI to my TV(which is how it's set up if I'm not out and about with it.)  Maybe this'll shed some light on a potential solution for you.  I hope Julian'll eventually be able to offer me some advice on this because having to make that adjustment is still a bit irritating, even if it's not the biggest issue ever.  I forget if I already posted about this....

Exact same thing happens to me, with the no refreshing of the screen and all.

I found my workaround.  I run a Youtube video in the background.  Cosby, typically, because he makes me smile.  With video it refreshes as quickly as I want it to.  Without, nothing.

My workaround is to minimize and re-maximize the Incursion screen. But yeah,  it seems a problem on Win7. On WinXP, it works fine.
