To celebrate the new fork of Incursion let's post our experiences with it!
I'm currently playing a Human Ranger (atheist, neutral evil.) I'm still experimenting with stats and builds, but I usually go for well-balanced stats and the feats Far Shot, Mounted Combat, and Mounted Archery, then I grab Aimed Shot soon after. My racial skills are Knowledge (Magic) and Use Magic; the former helps me identify wands so I can blast particularly troublesome enemies with the latter. Being able to identify my other items is just icing on the cake. Then I put points into skills as-needed. Stuff like healing and ride.
I The first things I do are equip my long bow and summon up a night hunter to use as my mount. It flies, it's fast, and it has great infra-vision. I proceed to shoot arrows at anything that moves, basically. The mounted speed boost allows me to kite enemies effectively. It's probably one of the most powerful classes in the game, right behind Druids.
Anyway, Svartwarren seems like a pretty competently designed fork, in my opinion. It made a bad first impression but Sausen has been dutifully fixing bugs and now it's seriously awesome. I especially like the "quality of life" features. Also the game is less buggy, which is nice.
