There was a discussion with a christian friend of mine about this term
karthar.

I tld him that karthar originated from the term kartha which meanw one
who does an action.

In shrArdha(annual ritual for ancestors) prayogam and death based
rituals they usually refer to the person who does the act as kartha or
one who does an action.

For example karana kartha(ther pesron whose action is behind a reason)
karya kartha(a person who is doing an action) so on. you have vasana
kartha too(dialogue writer).

The malayali christians refer to jesus as kartha no as karthar... as
tamil christians have added the suffix "r" as a mark of respect kartha
has become karthar.

So christians use sanskirt to refer to the god(or his only begotten
son) their worship. This is a form of incultration.

Any comments??

regards
Venkat
