Title says it all. A very important notebook of mine has completely vanished from the desktop app, and appeared as a browser shortcut on my desktop that links to the inferior online version that I can't use on the train. What the fuck? Another notebook was completely unchanged btw. How do I revert this?
Like others, I need to change the keyboard shortcut to open 1Password to something that does not conflict with the Google Docs keyboard shortcut for strikethrough (Command + Shift + X). I have tried changing the the keyboard shortcut in the settings for 1Password, but that had no effect. I am using Chrome on a Mac. Thanks for your help.
Hey @sarahhooverboyd, I can confirm that the shortcut command+shift+x to open in 1Password the browser conflicts with the strikethrough shortcut in Google Docs. I am very sorry for the trouble. I will report your instance of the issue to our developers so that they are aware of how it is impacting your experience. Hopefully they will be able to come up with a good solution in the future.
If the shortcut to open the extension is already set to command+shift+x, please change it to another shortcut. After that, close out of the window and go through steps 1-4 again. Make sure to change the shortcut back to command+shift+x.
Description of the issue:
On macOS, a number of global shortcuts that I was used to were suddenly mapped to unexpected different functions in the latest stable version of Brave specifically.
I can confirm that the keyboard shortcuts mapping is broken on a German QWERTZ keyboard. Hitting Cmd-< should be the system-wide switching between app windows, now it triggers the Brave settings page. Annoying. Disabling the feature worked though

Normally and for as long as I've been using EN Web Clipper (with chrome Browser) on my PC, when I want to clip a webpage etc, I have always 1st clicked the EN Elephant extension-button on my Chrome browser toolbar to launch the Web Clipper.
I created one Asp.net MVC4 web application using C# which we can dynamically create keyboard shortcuts for all the pages. And we can use that keyboard shortcuts instantly to go to specific page. And the problem is every browser have their own default shortcuts. For example
I want to disable the default browser shortcuts to give priority to my own custom shortcuts. Is this any way to achieve these? For my custom shortcuts,i used jquery keyUp event.I searched on internet, there suggestion are on jquery keyUp event, use preventDefault().But for accessing my own custom shortcuts,i am using keyUp event. So tell me suggestions to disable default browser shortcuts in all browsers either by C#, jquery or any other way.
The problem is that every browser has its own keyboard combinations, so it's impossible to come up with a set of keyboard combinations that work on all web browsers and yet consistent.(e.g. It'd be silly if the shortcut for save was Ctrl + Shift + S while one for delete was Alt + D.)
Of course, those ideas are ugly and I think of them as only stop gaps. Eventually, the best solution would be for Discourse to implement Ctrl+f in a way that works the way people expect. Replicating in Discourse what the browser does for interactively searching would be very much worth it, but I imagine it would be difficult.
Find in Page only searches for text, so there is no need for the browser to have the entire DOM loaded to be able to search it. Text is incredibly lightweight to send, especially if the HTTP server has gzip compression turned on. Text also does not take up much memory in a web browser.
Pressing Search causes the top row of keys to act as function keys. The Volume Up button is the tenth one over so F10. Search + Shift + F10 = Shift F10 which is the standard shortcut for showing the context menu.
As far as chrome is consider there are no keyboard shortcut for spell check. Alternatively,There's an extension in the Chrome store called Ginger that does spell checking. When a word is spelled wrong it will be highlighted in blue. All you do is hover over the word and the word it thinks you meant will appear above it, just click the word and continue on.
We have noticed in the last few of weeks that when we click the shortcut with the default IE target, we receive a pop-up message that reads "This action is restricted. For more information, please contact your system administrator."
Taking the steps in the KB article Sue_T provides above prevents this message from popping up, but you still have to click "Open" on an Edge browser file message. I played around with Edge settings (site permissions, etc.) for a few minutes but didn't find anything that prevented that message from appearing.
Yes, it will go away. The shortcut that uses Presentation Host does not even launch the browser, so it is much more convenient. The user won't be prompted to open the file, and it doesn't leave a browser window/tab open.
I had to reformat my PC and reinstall PSPad. In the highlighter settings for HTML files, I have set up External Programs for my 3 browsers I use to test the pages. I can't remember how to set up keyboard shortcuts like F9, CTRL+F9, etc. to launch the page from the editor in each of those browsers. I looked in Program Settings->Key Map, but I don't see entries in any of the categories for the browsers I configured. How can I do this?
If I choose Settings->Edit Clip Definition File from the menu and select Perl.DEF, it loads. I view it and it shows the definition of CTRL+ENTER is assigned to the text
. If I then load a Perl script (.pl) after viewing the .DEF file, my shortcuts work again. If I close and restart PSPad and load a .pl file, they don't work. I view the Perl.DEF file, they work. This is repeatable every time. The .DEF doesn't appear to load when I load a .pl file.
Starting with the Citrix Workspace app for Windows 2309 version (112.1.1.24), an administrator can configure and control the presence of the Citrix Enterprise Browser shortcut on the Start menu.
Navigate to Workspace Configuration > App Configuration > Citrix Enterprise Browser and enable Enable Citrix Enterprise Browser shortcut.
Guil Hernandez Even though I disabled the option for the help menu the shortcut cmd+shift+7(/) does not work the workspace only takes cmd+/ but I don't have that key on my keyboard. I only know that key from a full keyboard but macbooks don't have that.
I would love the option to change shortcuts in the workspace or at least cmd+shift+/ to be recognized. That would make commenting a lot easier, which is an absolutely important thing students should learn to do!
mersadajan Same here. I have an Italian keyboard, I disabled the Help Menu shortcut on the Keyboard settings but it still doesn't work.Only when I change the keyboard in to English input Sources the shortcut works.
But, my feeling is that, if you wish the browser's regular save dialog to appear in all other situations where the URL doesn't contain the string, it will likely have to fall on your macro to initiate this. If the browser shortcut is interfering with your macro shortcut, and there's no flexibility in using a different hotkey, then you have to remove the default browser shortcut.
I am working on placing a folder on all of our desktops with the shortcuts and files that are required by our organization. One of the shortcuts that I'm using doesn't play well with any other browser except for Chrome. I tried to create a shortcut to this URL from chrome which works when I try it on my computer but, when I point to that shortcut in the GPO, It changes the location of Chrome.exe from Program Files to Program Files (x86) where Chrome doesn't live. Thereby creating an error.
Is there an easier way to do this?
Yes but, a program shortcut, as far as I can tell, cannot be placed in a particular folder, only in preset locations, (desktop, start menu, etc.) The only way that I have figured out how to do this is by calling the shortcut a file and setting it up from there. It works great for shortcuts that don't need a specific browser but, not this one for some reason.
