Whenit comes to making important choices in The Quarry, there's no denying that some choices leave a lasting impression, especially when dealing with your internal conflict, constantly wondering if you've made the right decision -- this particular scene being one of those.

In order to successfully free Jacob from the cage, you will need to make a few key decisions in order to lead up to the challenging breaker puzzle. Unfortunately, should you not agree to free Jacob when prompted in Chapter 8, you will later sacrifice him to werewolf Nick in the cage beside him when the power is turned off.

Now that Ryan has agreed to help save Jacob, you'll be tasked with opening the cage door. It's important to state that solving this puzzle can be a little tricky, as one wrong move can quickly result in Jacob being sacrificed.

To solve the breaker box puzzle, here is the correct order in which the breakers must be pulled in order to unlock the correct doors that lead to Jacob's cell. Pulling any other sequence of breakers will result in Jacob's death.

The Quarry's most frustrating puzzle can feel like an exercise in trial-and-error the first time you play it. If Jacob is captured by the hunters, you'll have the opportunity to free him later in the game. Doing so requires pulling a series of levers in the correct order. The game is very stingy with hints at this point, making it very easy to fail the puzzle and leave Jacob stuck in his cage.

If you agree to help Jacob escape, he explains that the circuit breaker across from his cage can be used to open individual doors. He instructs you to open "this door and that door, and definitely not that door," which is pretty vague, especially when the game's camera stays on Jacob and doesn't show you which doors he's pointing to.

Jacob is referring to his own cage's door and the outer gate that encloses both cages as the ones that need to be opened, and the cage containing the monster as the one that needs to remain closed. There is a brief camera pan before you are shown the switches that notes Jacob's cage as number three, the central door as five, and the monster's cage as number seven.

Throwing two switches either open a door or reset the circuit breaker, indicated by your character getting zapped. If you make two mistakes, the puzzle will fail and Jacob will remain trapped. In most cases this will result in his death later on. Even if you have Death Rewind enabled, it will set you back a good half hour to try the puzzle again.

Start by opening the central door. You need to throw switches that add up to the number of the door you want opened, but Switch #4 will always open the monster's cell if it's thrown. Furthermore, you'll want to always throw the higher-numbered switch of your chosen pair first.

If the monster is released, it will not be around later to kill Jacob if he's still imprisoned, but it will likely go on to kill someone else - often the character who released it. The exact outcome of the puzzle depends upon which characters are present at the time.

Supermassive Games' riveting new interactive horror experience The Quarry tasks players with surviving a harrowing night of abject slaughter at Hackett's Quarry summer camp. With 186 different story outcomes, the immersive game lets players determine the various fates of nine camp counselors as a lycanthropic scourge terrorizes the teenagers.

Since the game puts a direct onus on players to make the best decisions possible, the wisest choices lead to the counselors' survival while the worst options inevitably lead to a grisly death. For the absolute best selections to keep as many characters alive as possible, be wise and follow the proper guidelines.

In Chapter 3, one of the biggest consequential decisions to make that will affect the fate of others involves Jacob being caught in a snare trap. As this happens, Jacob is approached by Bobby Hackett and given the option to throw dirt in his face to distract him or not. The best decision is to refrain from throwing dirt in Bobby's face.

In Chapter 4, the following sequence will find Ryan tending to Nick's wounds. As he nurses Nick back to health, Ryan hears strange noises coming from the bushes nearby, at which point he will be given two options to fire into the shrubbery without seeing a target. The best decision is to avoid both prompts and hold fire.

By holding fire, Ryan will inevitably save Jacob's life. By shooting into the bushes indiscriminately, Jacob will inevitably die. Afterward, Ryan must drop the gun to keep the rest of the counselors safe moving forward.

Later in Chapter 4, Emma will begin vlogging about her eerie surroundings when she begins hiking alone at night. As she stumbles upon a treehouse, she'll be given the option to either search the bags inside the treehouse or open the trapdoor located above. The best choice for Emma to make is the former.

If Emma examines the bags and passes through the treehouse, she will remain unscathed. However, if she opens the trapdoor, she will be aggressively accosted and gorily slaughtered by a werewolf in one of the most brutal deaths in The Quarry.

In Chapter 5, Ryan and Dylan will come across an old radio shack and use the PA system to warn Kaitlyn of an impending attack. A werewolf will then storm through the roof and bite Dylan on the wrist, at which point Dylan will ask Ryan to cut off his hand to prevent the infection from spreading to the rest of his body.

When Ryan is given the option to shoot Dylan's hand off with a shotgun or use a nearby chainsaw, the absolute best option is to use the chainsaw. The shotgun blast is not guaranteed to lift the lycanthropic curse but the chainsaw will, allowing both characters to survive and move on.

While Abigail holding her breath for as long as humanly possible will prevent her infection in Chapter 3, it won't necessarily prevent her death. Instead, the best decision Abigail needs to make in order to survive is to shoot Nick with the rifle when he attacks her in the pool hall during Chapter 6, and do not hesitate for a moment.

If Abigail fails to shoot Nick on the spot, he will continue transforming into a werewolf and eventually lunge across the room, attack Abi, and decapitate her in ultra-gory fashion right in front of Kaitlyn. This may seem difficult as Abi has a crush on Nick, but it must be done for her to live.

Chapter 7 focuses on Laura's options while touring the police station, directly leading to the fate of her relationship with Sheriff Travis Hackett. While inside the jail, the great horror game female protagonist must leave her cell, go upstairs to the top floor, and search the third office. Once there, she'll find a hidden syringe inside a locker before going to sleep.

When she awakes, Laura will find a gun nearby and be given the option to either shoot Travis with the gun or incapacitate him using the syringe. The best option is to use the syringe, as Laura will need Travis later to ensure her own survival. Shooting Travis with the gun will kill him and deeply harm Laura's best ending.

By Chapter 8 of the much-anticipated horror game, Laura and Ryan stumble on an infrared tunnel beneath the Hackett house that leads to Nick and Jacob being held captive inside electrified cages. Ryan is given the option to open the cage, but the best decision is to avoid doing so.

Afterward, Laura will aim her gun at a monstrous Nick inside the cage, and Ryan is given the choice to let her shoot him or interrupt her. The best choice is to prevent Laura from shooting Nick, which would kill him in the only possible way in the game. Once Ryan stops Laura from shooting Nick, he must properly solve the puzzle breaker to allow Jacob to escape. If Ryan does not choose the right combination, Jacob could die as a result.

In Chapter 9, a couple of counterintuitive decisions must be made to enjoy the best ending for Laura and Ryan. As the two get captured by the Hacketts, Bobby stabs Ryan in the side with a knife before chasing Laura. Players will be given two options to remove the knife from Ryan's wound but the best decision is two avoid both and leave the knife inside. The knife will pay dividends in defeating Bobby later in the chapter.

After a series of grueling confrontations, Laura will tell Ryan she can feel her infection advance and offers to bite Ryan as a way of regenerating his health. The best decision is for Ryan to allow Laura to bite him and ensure his survival in the long run.

Like Nick, Max has only one way of dying in The Quarry. It potentially comes in Chapter 10 after Chris is killed, when Max is alone on the island at night and given the option of staying on the docks or swimming across the lake. The best decision is to remain patient, stay put on the docks, and wait until daybreak.

If Max becomes impatient and chooses to swim across the lake, he will be inevitably met and mauled by Caleb as a rabid werewolf on the edge of the docks in one of the gnarliest death scenes that make the game feel like a legitimate horror movie.

In order to achieve the most optimal ending, Laura and Ryan must make a few key decisions in Chapter 10 when dealing with Travis. The trio will find Silas the White Wolf in the woods, at which point Laura grabs a shotgun. When Laura gives Ryan the shotgun, Silas will attack and give Ryan the option to raise the gun at the werewolf. The best decision is to remain calm and not lift and aim the gun at Silas.

Next, the best decision for Laura to make is to deliberately fail the QTE, or else she will die. After failing the QTE on purpose, an option to shoot Silas will appear. It's best to shoot Silas on the spot, which will lift the werewolf curse on all the characters he's bitten. If Laura chooses not to shoot Silas in the proper order, Silas will kill Travis and everyone not protected by wolf's blood.
