Makeway for the Mother. Jennifer Lopez traded in her cargo pants for a sparkly, midriff-revealing beige ensemble on the red carpet (well, technically it was a black carpet) for the premiere of her latest action thriller on Wednesday, delighting crowds of fans lining up outside the Regency Village Theatre in Los Angeles to catch a glimpse of the actor.

Directed by Niki Caro, The Mother stars Lopez as a military-trained sniper who comes out of hiding after more than a decade to protect the daughter she was forced to give up. As the two get to know each other under tense circumstances, the Mother gives12-year-old Zoe (Lucy Paez) tough love as she imparts life lessons and survival skills. That hard-earned trust and mentorship came alive on the red carpet, as Paez cozied up to her movie mom for a new lesson: how to dominate a film premiere.

Margot Robbie continued her sartorial winning streak with another Barbie-inspired look: a Schiaparelli couture minidress with a sculptural pink sash. Fellow style maven Emma Stone also stunned in a silver beaded custom Louis Vuitton gown. Emily Blunt wowed in a plunging custom Louis Vuitton dress. Meanwhile, Elizabeth Debicki brought understated glamour, Danielle Brooks made a bold statement, America Ferrera opted for a timeless look and Brie Larson turned heads in an ab-baring look. Fashionable men Colman Domingo, Cillian Murphy, Ryan Gosling, Matt Bomer, Steven Yeun, Jeremy Allen White and Pedro Pascal were also among the red carpet standouts.

There you have it. Cannes is dependable for a few things: great movies, great parties and people making red carpets awkward for no good reason. This security guard certainly filled that role this year.

On the carpet, Tarbell was definitely the belle of the ball, as she wore a striking blue, mermaid-fitted gown that was perfectly on theme with her character Katara, a water-bender. Her costars Cormier and Ousley both went for traditional robes at the carpet.

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Philadelphia on Tuesday night rolled out the red carpet for Adam Sandler. The actor's new movie "Hustle" was shot in the City of Brotherly and Eyewitness News was at the screening on the eve of the film's Netflix release.

There was a full house, complete with a red carpet at the Philadelphia Film Center on Tuesday for the premiere of "Hustle," a movie directed by Philly native Jeremiah Zagar and starring Sandler with lots of Philly cameos all to tell a story with this beautiful city almost serving as it's a muse.

"Also like the little things, like the murals that Adam referenced like you don't know those unless you're from Philadelphia," Zagar said. "You don't know that Dr. J mural unless you're from Philadelphia, you don't know those murals in deep South Philly unless you're from Philadelphia. That was the goal. The goal was to make it as authentic and city-centric as possible."

"After I left here, I had no idea about so many things, how beautiful it was, how calm it is on the weekends," Sandler said. "Everybody's kind of in a good mood, a lot of together, fun feelings of, just good to have kids running around. Restaurants were great. People were great. Great energy."

In the film, Sandler is a scout for the Philadelphia 76ers. He's married to Queen Latifah and they have a daughter. His job sees him frequently traveling and rarely at home. On one of his scouting trips, he discovers a talented Spanish player who he wants the Sixers to draft -- that's all Eyewitness News is giving away, but Philadelphian fans will recognize this guy.

"Oh man, it was a dream come true," Sixers forward Tobias Harris said. "I never really had acting aspirations as a kid. But to be able to be on set, to learn from him, he's one of the coolest and most humble guys I've ever met in my life. He brought that every single day and everybody around him, you could just see that energy flowing from him, how calm he is and how supportive he is, it was awesome."

"It's great because Adam was here, not just filming a movie but he was throughout the City of Philadelphia," former Sixers general manager Billy King. "He embraced the city, and that was what was great about him filming the movie here."

This is actually as simple as googling. When I was searching for any red carpet events that take place in Los Angeles on our travel dates, the best source I found was this website, listing all the upcoming movie premieres and celebrities about to receive stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

This famous LA wonder is sidewalks of Hollywood Boulevard and Vine Street with stars on them dedicated to famous singers, actors, even fictional characters and many more from the entertainment industry.

In addition to those, celebrity spotting in Los Angeles works well through different tours, that can get you close to your favorite celebs. Any of these options below are awesome ways how to make that happen!

For example The Ellen Show or Jimmy Kimmel. The Jimmy Kimmel taping actually takes place right on the Walk of Fame across the street from the Chinese Theater. So you often get to see some things happening out on the street outside the studio.

This is such a cool way to remember LA visit by! I did not think to check for premieres when I was there, just did the touristy things like Universal studios etc. Next time I will go to LA, this goes up on my list as the first thing I will do! Probably, not the 6 hour wait, but standing by and taking a look for sure!

After partying for a while with my Penguin Random House publishing team (by which I mean, we stood in one spot and ate lobster rolls and macarons together while people-watching), Tom and I took one last selfie of our exhausted but exhilarated selves and headed back to our hotel for bed.

Wow. Just… wow. The Damsel World Premiere on Friday night was incredible. From walking the red carpet to hearing Millie Bobby Brown speak before the screening, to watching the finished film to the epic Hollywood after-party… I would say that I have no words, but I’m a writer, and I have So. Many. Words.

On the night of the Damsel World Premiere, our first stop was the Will Call tent to grab our tickets. It turns out that I didn’t have to do that because Netflix had people who would have gotten them for me (I had people!). But I didn’t know this, so we went into the Will Call tent ourselves and picked up the envelope with my name printed in bold on it.

There was a long line of fans waiting on the street, in hopes that some of the invitees on the guest list wouldn’t show up. Any unclaimed invitations (as of fifteen minutes before screening time) would be released to those in line, first-come, first-served.

Security whisked me off to the red carpet, which was set up inside The Oak Room at The Plaza. Along the way, I got to walk through a small model of the Damsel dragon caves. There was a section made to look like the “Safe Cave” (if you’ve already read my book, you know what this is). There was also another section of the cave, full of “anthodite” crystal flowers lit up with color-changing LEDs.

Um… that’s REALITY. If being styled for the premiere was like being in a movie makeover montage scene, walking the red carpet was my moment of acting like a movie star. It was surreal, and those minutes in front of the press will be part of the highlight reel of my life forever. (Waking up the next morning to find photos of myself all over Getty Images, right next to the stars of the film, was also unbelievable.)

Our seat assignments were on the backs of our tickets, and ushers showed us to our row. We sat just across the aisle and a couple rows back from Jon Bon Jovi and his son, Jake (Millie Bobby Brown’s fiancé).

Before the movie began, the director—Oscar-nominated Juan Carlos Fresnadillo, whom I had the pleasure of meeting previously when I had visited the film set in London—spoke to the audience about the making of the movie. It was amazing to remember how many people are involved in making a film. I have so much appreciation for everyone involved in any creative industry, especially those who value the importance of storytelling.

After she finished her speech, the movie began! It was such a unique experience because the audience was full of those who had played a part in the making of the film, including their families and friends (who are the unsung heroes of the creative industry—thank you for all your support while we writers and artists hole ourselves up in our writing caves/studios and talk to the characters in our heads!)
