Good morning guys! (or goodnight)

This is your LEO, Andrea Costumati, and this is an official letter. For you! :)

Even if we've already introduced ourselves, i have to re-give you the Welcome to this mailing list, announcing you that you will take part of the "incoming season - palermo august 2011".
I am really proud of it, because you will be a great group, and we will spent a huge month together!

I know you are impatient! Now is the moment where most of your question could be solved!

First of all:

1) When the Clerkship starts/ends?

The professional exchange starts officially the 1st August, but the first day will be all interested in registration of people at the hostel, so you can start your traineeship about the 3rd August.
The exchange ends 27th August.

2) Oh my God, so can't you accept before 1st or after 27th??

Absolutely no problem. We already know that some people could arrive before or leave after because of cheap prices of flights etc...
We will make contact with an other hostel, booking for you rooms for all the days extra you need. We will inform you about the prices and location (and we will ask you about how many days)!
But we have to talk about this only in july (now is too much early).

3) Ok... but how many boards do i have par day?

You will have 1 board par day, during the 5 days of traineeship (not saturday and sunday). By the way, you can sleep also saturday and sunday! (:P)
No pocket money.

4) Is the hostel near the hospital?

Yes! You don't need autobus!

5) Will you pick up us at the arrival?

No, because you are too many! We can inform you about the buses from the airport to palermo (they costs 15 E.). They departs every 30 minutes! :)

6) Do i need white and green coat?

Absolutely yes!

7) Is there a social program?

ABSOLUTELY YES!

I am sure that you can ask more than 7 questions... but for the moment this is what you need to know...! If you have doubts, you can ask here and checking the other answers!

Next dead-lines:

- Acceptation Card - 27 Days (but we will send them soon, after our national meeting next week!)

- Info about the "other hostel" for extra days - beginning of july

So, see you soon! Wait for the next email by me and my staff! (we will ask you to do something for us... :P)

Hi Radi!
Your questions aren't silly at all!

For "boards" we mean the amount of meals per day!

Yes! The "green coat" it's actually the scrub! In our university we are supposed to wear a green scrub, in order to make a difference between doctors and nurses! Of course if you have already a scrub of a different colour, it's up to you to keep that or to buy a new one!

I hope I've answered your questions!

See you soon!

Hey!

Do we also need that green coat if we're going to Internal Medicine? Sorry about this question but in Portugal we only use it for surgeries.

Thank you!

Can't wait to meet you guys!

The general reccomendation is "to take both".
Also here we don't need green coat for I.M.

But If a professor goes mad and decide to make an invasion of the surgery theater, screaming casual diagnosis, shaking his arms like a dragonfly and holding bistouries.... you should be prepared!! :)

Dearest our CP-s!

I feel it's an absolutely stupid question, but for sure I have to ask: in the CC you expect us to write that date when we arrive, even if it's not the same that we gave you in our application, don't you?! Because how I know, it should be the same...but it's not the same...but you told us it's not a problem if we arrive before or later a little bit...I'm sorry...I told you...
