Hi Guys!
I am here reminding you about the CC (deadline 30 june ;D) but also talking about an important event inside our university hospital:
PAOLO GIACCONE DAY, 11 August 2011
Paolo Giaccone was the professor of Forensic Medicine in Palermo. One of the most important italian doctors in his specific field.
His work and his good attitude were really great. During 1981 he made a really important fingerprinting exam for a case of murder.
He received prexures by people that wanted to cover the guilty. He refused to change the results and with his contribute the killer was condamned.
The same people that tried to corrupt him, decided to kill him.
The night of 11 august 1982, Paolo Giaccone was murdered in the street of the Policlinico Hospital.
His good action, his job and his good aim are an important exemple still today.
The Hospital where you will do your traineeship is named "Paolo Giaccone". He represent the good intentions of a good doctor, the beautiful aim of a good man against the criminal organizations.
Every year, every 11 august, we celebrate his courage with all the public authorities, the police, the army and the dean of faculty in the main street of the hospital, place of his murder.
I told you about this because I need Three people that want to give their contribute for this day.
I need three people that want to prepare a short speech, in english of course, talking about what means to be doctors, what means to be citizens, and also describing what is your point of view about that horrible thing called mafia and about that beautiful things called courage, legality and good values.
