Hello Friends,

I too received a letter from CPC on some amount mismatch on the Income
Tax. But my Form-16 has all the full details of the full amount which
has been paid by my employer through TDS. The mismatch is because of
the fact that in the 1st Qtr of the AY 2008-2009 my PAN number was
mentioned by my employer and hence the mismatch has occured. However
as mentioned earlier the entire amount has been paid to Govt which is
showing up in my Form-16.

I was trying to call CPC at:
080-43456700 or mail ito...@incometax.gov.in

But there is no response. The phone number does not seem to work and I
did not get any reply from the above email id.

Shankar:
Can you please share the email id once again, since the id is not
getting typed properly in your message.

Thanks
Sumanta

Hi Sumanta,

its itdcpc  , in your case it seems to have become itocpc.

Shankar,

Could you please let us know whether you were able to talk to them on the same number 080-43456700 .
I never could get connected.

there is nothing wrong happened in my Form 16, Yet all my TDS is counted as 0.

Just to make sure , I interpreting their notice correctly , I'm pasting some chunks here. Please let me know if it's the same for you guys.

Thanks,
Ullas

Hi All,
I was able to talk to them.. u need to keep dialling persistently.. use your landline phone and not the mobile.
In my case they have put my salary income under Income from other sources also, hence the Gross total income has doubled..
I have been told to pay huge tax because of this stupid mistake.
Customer care executive said they would be launching Rectification form in couple of days which can be used to get these kind of things corrected.
Anyways I recommend each one of you to call that number and speak about ur actual discrepancy

Thanks,
Umashankar
