For our environment (yours may be different) saving this as RegisterNvidiaControlPanel.ps1 and running as the user (not admin) in the session allows users to open control panel. Obviously you could script it to run for them if it solves your issue. Here is the command which you should verify has the correct version/path for your environment:

I just got Ubuntu two weeks ago. I installed the game Minecraft using Openjdk 7 runtime. It's laggy (it was on Windows too) until I did one thing. On Windows I would right click my desktop and click NVIDIA Control Panel and then I would change the 3D graphics or something like that to performance. Can you tell me how to access NVIDIA control panel on Ubuntu? Thanks.

Not sure what I can do to optimize my sim. But this is what I currently have. I run the sim in 4K single screen with a GTX 1080 FTW (8GB). So I'm not sure if I should turn on or off some of the options I have in here.

Wouldn't touch it at all, outside of perhaps "Prefer maxiumum performance". Most of it has zero effect. I tried forcing AF but you end up with a weird water shimmering when done through the control panel I've found.

Imho, as Sethos 1988 said, you shouldn't touch a single option in those screens. I myself never ever noticed a difference between various settings and always leave things at default. No need to complicate things without reason. ?

i got 4k monitor with 1070, night with qw787 or fsl320 at Flightbeam KSFO with dynamic lighting just basically killed the 1070, qw787 sitting at runway with lights is about 18-23 fps just bad, but pmdg 777 is much better. only thing i touch in Nvidia control panel is prefer maximum performance

Friendly tip: the next time edit out all those screenshots: no need to repeat them all and make us scroll down for a minute. ? Even easier: do not click on + Quote but select an appropriate part of a post you want to reply to and you will see a small popup coming up saying 'Quote selection'. Click on that and your post could have begun with for instance this:

you change those settings all you want, but you are trying to run a 20 year old engine in 4K... same hooker different dress... it never ceases to amaze me how people think v4 is this magic bullet just because a miltary contracter has bought the rights to recode it and made it 64 bit. its still fsx under a ton of make up. it really is that simple.

Everything is up todate, from Windows Update to Armoury Crate and GeForce Experience. I've encountered some issues and would like to know if they are serious, if anyone else has experienced the same, or if, straight up, this is grounds to request a warranty exchange or refund.

While gaming, I don't have any issues... but occasionally, when browsing on Edge, I notice 'blackouts' on my screen for no apparent reason (This usually happens after putting the computer in sleep mode). These blackouts are associated with a switch in output between the internal Intel graphics and the NVIDIA GPU (The PC was configured in GPU Optimized mode in Armoury Crate). These blackouts completely render my browser unusable. In fact, everything freezes... even without doing anything, the resolution starts 'acting up,' shifting to lower resolutions so glitchily that it doesn't even allow me to restart the system safely... so I opt to force it with the power button.

The same thing happened after leaving the PC in sleep mode (and unplugged)... screen blackouts, Edge rendered useless and unresponsive (not even the task manager can close it in that state)... but, upon restarting, it booted up only with the Intel GPU (I noticed due to the dismal gaming performance)... and the most alarming part was that the NVIDIA control panel wasn't appearing in the toolbar!!! Running 'dxdiag' also didn't show it, only the integrated Intel card. Needless to say, I got scared, especially since, in that state, GeForce Experience recommended updating drivers, and when attempting, it said 'my system was not compatible with the update'...

Have you tried uninstalling Armory Crate while looking for the causes of these strange and disturbing computer states? I have the same hardware configuration and the latest version of Armory Crate was also a complete failure for me. Luckily, I make system backups.

Which even the repair place I sent it too couldn't get it working after trying everything, they are telling me it's a motherboard problem and I best go shopping for a new laptop cause the price of the Motherboard is the same as the new laptop. Oh and it's only 2.5 years old.

It makes me so frustrated... this is only the second laptop I've had in my life... I saved a lot to have it... and my previous laptop, which is low-end, is still working after 10 darn years!... And without ever taking it to a tech service!!!!... And when I finally got the money to buy something that's supposed to be 'mid-high-range,' thinking, I don't know: 'it will last at least another 10 years'... turns out, in less than 3 months, I start having ridiculous glitches xd (and without messing with anything, without opening it up, without using unknown third-party software. Nothing at all)... not to mention all the issues and concerns from users I see on the forum ... Now it seems increasingly evident that this thing won't last more than 3 years, as you rightly say... it's insane!... What the heck is going on with the PC-gaming community that they don't warn about these issues, and before, they seem ecstatic about RGB lights, aggressive designs, and the numbers that come after the models of the CPUs and GPUs?... Do they only worry about the thrill of the moment and the novelty...? ... I can't change equipment every two years... I'm not a millionaire... that's not fair... do those who design them not thoroughly check them?

The difference between low-end and high-end laptops goes to hell if the supposed better one lasts less than a lower-capacity one... Now I'm thinking about returning it, giving a middle finger to the PC-gaming world, and going back to consoles XD.

I use GTX 1650 4gb, then I try to re-arrange the setting on NVIDIA control panel so many times for better improvement while edit in Magix 17 . here's my recent setting on GPU accelaration with MAGIX 17. The result is much better on preview playback in the footage with 1920 59fps (XAVCS) with LUT's colour effect (The GPU's percentage on 28-45%), but in the rendering process it's suck , dude (the GPU percentage is 2%, nothing improvement). I've try the thirdparty rendering i.e., Voukoder ; H.264 Nvenc , then the result is the same . Very frustating :(

Yes, the 3D settings can help Vegas use the graphics card (assuming internally it is also set to use the GPU.

I'm puzzled about your render performance. Can you post a screenshot of your settings? Can you doublecheck you using a template with NVENC encoding and a format (like AVC) that supports GPU acceleration? If not it won't do anything.

I have a similar GPU and it gets higher usage in rendering than that (closer to 20%).

Just curious , does it matter if you set the MSAA in the DCS settings or in the Nvidia control panel (and select override application) ? are they both the same or is one better than the other? and does one tax the system less?

and using step 2 and clicking on Update the driver for the original graphics card where I selected "Click here to view all available drivers for this product" and then "driver-graphics" before downloading and installing both the "Intel High-Definition (HD) Graphics Driver" and the "NVIDIA High-Definition (HD) Graphics Driver". Now both my NVIDIA control panel and SIMS4 game seem to be running fine.

Have you attempted any steps on your own before posting on the HP Forums? - I tried finding a solution but couldn't find one I understood so no I haven't done anything. I did make sure all drivers were up to date and adjust what I could of the SIMS 4 and Origin without being able to open the SIMS. I tried a restart. Basically the solutions that are common and relatively simple I have tried.

After having so many recent issues with my ASUS i7 gaming laptop GTX 1070 (mostly with windows 10 updates and now hardware issue and will be sending it back to them for repair), I purchased a new Dell desktop XPS 8930, 32GB DDR4 2666MHz (4x8GB), 1 TB PCle x4 SSD + 2TB HD, Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 6GB GDDR6, CFL-R i9-9900K 8-Core (FY19HOL) Could someone please tell me what the optimal Nvidia 3d settings should be configured to and do I change the global settings or config to the specific SU program settings or both. Using latest version SU 2019 and iRenderNXT. Your advice is very much appreciated. Barb
