Here's an interesting news account from Huffington Post about 7-year-old Miles Ambridge, a native of Canada who's afflicted with spinal muscular atrophy that prevents him from walking.
Miles was made to sit away from the rest of the class in his wheelchair during a class picture taking. Call it a literal case of exclusion.
It took a complaint from the distraught father for the class photo to be reshot. It seemed the teacher did nothing and simply let this whole thing happen, or the boy would not have been isolated from the rest of the class during the first photo shoot. Maybe she needs to be sensitized to the rights of children with disabilities?
