Calling her Kameshwari, the exceptionally beautiful one, and her consort Shiva as Kameshwara, this hymn extols the Goddess of the bravery she displayed in the fierce battle with the demon Bhandasura and in his slaying. She is also hailed as the one who brought Manmatha, the God of love, back to life for the good of the world. The Sahasranama also praises her as being Brahma, the creator, Vishnu, the protector, and Shiva, the dissolver, as she performs all their great functions.
