Hi Richard,
as far as i can see, the only way to correct the span of an existing annotation is to delete it and to create a new one. However, this is in some situations quite unfortunate because one looses all the relations attached to the span.

Is there a way to correct/modify the span without loosing the relations? If not this would be a nice feature for the future.

Best,
Benjamin

In recent versions of INCEpTION you can resize spans in the brat and the Apache Annotator Editor - not in the PDF editor yet.

In the brat editor, you move the mouse over the annotation label bubble. When you do that, little orange handles appear at the
left and right ends of the bubble. You can grab either of these with the mouse and then drag them down into the text line to the
position where you would like to move the start/end of the annotations.

In the Apache Annotator Editor, the orange handles also appear left and right when you hover over an annotation. Again, simply
drag them to the text position you desire.

Here is a little video showing this:

Hi Richard,
that's just great, because it saves a lot of time.

Many thanks!

A bug in the resize functionality has been discovered: in INCEpTION 31.2 and earlier, just resizing a span will not actually update
the annotation data on disk. That means unless another action (e.g. creating, deleting, updating an annotation) happens afterwards,
the resize operation is not persisted.

Version 31.3 with a fix for this issue will be released asap.

Hi Richard,
thanks for letting me now. Then, I'm very much looking forward to the new version.

Best,
Benj
