Dear Developers,

I try to export the annotations in an xmi format. I tried both single file export (on the annotation page, click the "export" button), and batch export. However, I noticed that the two ways of export resulted in differences in the xmi files, on the same annotated documents. XMI files exported by batch seem to be empty, while the single file export method gave me correct annotation. Is this a bug? Any help will be greatly appreciated!!

Best,
Yanjun

When you say "batch export", what exactly did you do to perform this batch export and there where exactly did you find the empty XMI files?

Hi Richard,

I'm using the whole project export shown in the user guide: https://zoidberg.ukp.informatik.tu-darmstadt.de/jenkins/view/INCEpTION/job/INCEpTION%20main/de.tudarmstadt.ukp.inception.app$inception-app-webapp/doclinks/1/#sect_projects_export111 I followed this user guide exactly. Under the annotation folder, I found the <userid>.xmi are empty.

The XMI files that you find in the "annotation/<sourcedoc>" folder you are referring to are inside "<userid>.zip" files, is that correct?

The code that eventually gets called for exporting the files via the annotation page and via the bulk export should be the same, so normally there should be no difference between the two.

Which version of INCEpTION are you using?

yes i find the "annotation" folder under the zip file I downloaded from whole project export. i would expect no difference at all regardless of how I export them.
I'm using 0.17.4.

Could you please try 0.19.7?

You could also try 20.0. Note that if you start 20.0, you cannot downgrade to an older version afterwards.
There is currently a known bug in 20.0 that the curation does not work when using the embedded database.

Best,

We currently have annotators working on the project, I wonder if upgrading to a newer version will loss the existing progress, since "whole project export" is not working properly. could you give some suggestion regarding this issue?

I am not aware of any issue that would specifically break the "whole project export" or the XMI export.

Many bugs have been fixed between the version you are using and 0.19.7. Of course, I understand you don't
want to upgrade in a running project.

Would it be possible for you to (privately) share a project export with me so I can try to locally reproduce the problem?
