Hi all -

In using Incanter Excel I got this error while trying to read in a
spreadsheet.

I would like to modify the spreadsheet but am clueless as to what this
means! Anyone have any ideas??

Thanks!

Hi,

The following bug seems to match [https://issues.apache.org/bugzilla/
show_bug.cgi?id=14493] your problem.

Most of the responses in the bug report suggest that the Excel file
isn't really a proper Excel file.

* Open the file in a text editor (like notepad on windows) to confirm
that it is a true ".xls" file.

Some other questions:
* What version of Excel created the file?
* Can you create a very simple Excel file and read it?

David.

HI David -

Thanks much for the reply. I did try a new spreadsheet and it did
read ok - I am not very familiar with the origin of this spreadsheet
so i cannot say how it was created.

Thanks
