Hi
We have a male blackbird, he is definitely a blackbird, with long curly feathers everywhere except his wings. The wings seem more normal.
He goes about his business quite well although the wind does go at his feathers a bit. Quite cute and comical.
Could someone tell me how this comes about, and what are the chances of the gene being passed on (if it is congenital).
Looks like a round ball featherduster.
Thanks
Sheila

Hi Sheila

This forum is mainly for technical issues and the like. Suggest that you share an image of your unusual blackbird at http://naturewatch.org.nz along with your questions so our community of experts can see what's going on and comment on it for you.

Cheers
