Hey!
It's my first post here...

I got inspired by your organisation/website, and during Hackaton https://opendata.ch/
We did build image classifier app that can recognise many of the species presented on this website.

We think It could help monitor health of plants, or help people pick correct mushrooms, and identify birds.
Or we could connect it to webcam/smartphone to automatically catalog birds that comes to the bird feeders.
Would take pictures and times of birds it had seen.

Would anyone would be interested in testing it out of field?

Also would like to know which plants or animals you wanna recognise...
And help me with catalogue some of the pictures.. some probably I misclassified (my botanical knowledge is close to 0)

All best,
Lukas

PS. would recognising birds from audio ( when you hear it in the fields/woods would be any help to you guys? )

Hi Lukas

Trawling through some older posts, including yours...

Image recognition is already built into the iNaturalist NZ (was NatureWatch NZ) and the parent iNat programme - see https://inaturalist.nz/computer_vision_demo - it's also in the iNat smartphone app. Not sure if what you have created is different? I have not heard of bird call recognition though.

iNaturalist global are the platform developers - https://www.inaturalist.org/pages/help - so you could give them a yell-out.
