Map observations widget

Hello,

Can anyone shed any light on options of including of a map using the observations widget?

My digging suggests that traditional project types support a map view as well as observations: 
https://www.inaturalist.org/projects/santa-clara-county-bio-blitz?iframe=true

But new collections types don't: 
https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/widget?project_id=25688

Does this mean that with a collection project the only option is to use the API?
