All I see is "Add a Place" to Common Names.  What is needed is the ability to "Remove a Place".

Here's the issue (and another example of why common names make my teeth ache):
http://www.inaturalist.org/taxa/search?utf8=%E2%9C%93&q=Geranium+Plume+Moth

Geranium Plume Moth - Amblyptilia pica (in US and Canada only)

Geranium Plume Moth - Sphenarches anisodactylus (wide distribution in both hemispheres but only the very Deep South US)

While I'm happy for English-speakers in other countries to use Geranium Plume Moth for Sphenarches anisodactylus it has never had, nor needed, a common name in the US.  It appears that I can make up a new meaningless common name or reiterate the binomial as the common name (which I've seen on some obs).

Any other way to fix or work around this issue?

Thanks for assistance,

Monica Krancevic

Hi Monica,

It doesn't look to me like Taxon Name "Geranium Plume Moth" for
Geranium Plume Moth (Sphenarches anisodactylus) has any places, but if
it did there should be a way to delete it under Places here

Thanks Scott, but nothing I've done fixes this.  If I add a made-up name, using Hodges Number as the lexicon, and add only the place United States it gets put in the Global Name list and changes all obs (including Australasia where it should remain Geranium Plume Moth) to the Hodges Number even though it showed up as number 3 under Global Names.  Shouldn't my Hodges Common Name list as a Country rather than Global.  Something, or me, isn't right.

Thanks for help.
Monica
