Hello,

I'm using the Appon my android phone. The phones language is set to English, so I do not have a problem with the interface being in English.

However I'm not a native English speaker, which means that I'm not familiar with the common English species names.
This is not so much a problem when entering an observation because one can search for common names in any language (if they have been entered to the taxonomy list).

However when viewing my observations in the app I'm stuck with only the English names (no Latin names are shown). In: my observation -> species I'm gettin the English name in combination with the Latin name.

It would be helpful for users like me here in Europe which are more familiar with German or French species name to have the option of choosing the language in which the species names are displayed (in the App). (Or maybe choose to just display the Latin/Scientific name).
When using the inaturalist.org website this is possible: I have set Locale to English and Place to Germany, which gives me an English interface but German common species names.

Hope this can be implemented some day. It would make the use of the app easier for me and probably other users not familiar with the English common species names

Thanks you
Paul

I tottally agree and support idea of Paul. I am located in Slovakia and learning a lot through Inaturalist. Both scientific, Comnon names and Slovak names, which i am continuously adding to inat. And this is what I would love to see = Scientific name, Common English name and Slovak Name. At the moment I can choose in web either English or Slovak, but in either case I lear only one common names, while Slovak names are for me important when I show it to lacal people and common names are important for me for discussion with identifiers. I do not think it is that difficult to implement one more option to display another set of common names. Same for Android App I use. I have also English interface which I am familiar with, this shows me English common names only. I would love to see also Slovak names.
