The Andriod app needs some things. In no particular order.
1) The ability to select a picture already taken from the in-phone
album.
2) The ability to "share" a photo into iNaturalist. I think there
is some sort of provider or something you have to implement.
3) The species selector would also be kinda cool.
4) video ? shucks why not? or perhaps at least link to a youtube
vid.

5) I've deleted one observation on the web UI, but the android app
seems to persist in having it ( was orginally created there ). It's
like the delete on the web is not sync'd to the phone properly.

Hi Chris,

Thanks for the suggestions! There is definitely lots of room for
improvement in the Android app, and we'll keep your suggestions in
mind when we next have time and resources to work on it. What do you
mean about "sharing" a photo into iNaturalist, though? Wouldn't that
be the same thing as selecting a pic you've already taken on the
phone?

In the meantime does any one know of an EASY work-around to get dozens
of geotaged photos from my android photo album to my inaturalist
account?

Not sure if this answers your question, but I use the android app and Picasa. All photos I take with my phone automatically upload to picasa, and my iNat account is linked to my picasa account. iNat's photo add feature on the web is a bit clunky when you want to find a photo buried in your albums (there is a search function though ), but that's the work around that I would suggest.

Sharing a photo to  iNaturalist would be done from the photo gallery - at the bottom of the gallery I can select "Share" then select Facebook, Flickr, Gmail etc - adding iNaturalist to that list would be nice.

I think the number 1 improvement would be Chris's first suggestion:

1) The ability to select a picture already taken from the in-phone album.

I might see if I can do that when I have enough time to teach myself some android coding and figure out the app's source

2015 Feature Requests:

1)  Ability to select multiple photographs from the camera memory when attaching a photo ot an observation.  (Like with apple app)

2)  Possible "quick select" of classes using the iNaturalist class pictures like with apple app.  (for quick, general I.D.s)

Hi all, I am now using the Android app as well as the iOS app. I had a couple of feature requests/bug reports and was wondering who to direct that to, I understand it isn't Alex who works on it correct?

Thanks! and thanks to whoever is working on it. it's so much better than it was a year ago.

Right here is fine, and, in fact, better than contacting developers
individually. he...@inaturalist.org would be another place.
