I want to tell people that are not part of iNat how to go to the site to see my observations and after a few minutes of trying I was not able to see how to get them to my stuff.  I see the "people"  button on the opening page but no search box or some such.  Please tell me the magic words I need to pass along.

Hey George,

Click the menu in the upper right, click "Observations" to get to
http://www.inaturalist.org/observations/curiousgeorge61, copy the URL
in the address bar, and send them that. If you want them to find you
by searching for people on the site, have them go to iNat, click
"People" in the header, and search for your username, curiousgeorge61.
That should get them to
http://www.inaturalist.org/people/search?utf8=%E2%9C%93&q=curiousgeorge61

I am probably just not seeing it, but when I go to the people page I see the Recently active list, the leader boards, the curator list, but not a list of members or a search box to look someone up.  I guess I need some more help since this is the way I want someone to find me.  I  made up a business card like thing with the  iNat address and my curiousgeorge61 handle on it to give someone interested in seeing iNat and my observations.
thanks

See the red oval on the attached screenshot.
The search box is in the top right of the page.

That box is only there if you're signed in. There seems to be no way to look somebody up if you don't already have an inat account.

I just found out the same thing that you have to be signed in to see the search box.  What I want to do is for someone I meet who isn't a member of the group to be able to find my observations. I wonder if I need to start a new posting requesting that to see if it can be made to happen?

As a workaround, you could use the URL that Ken-ichi posted, put it through a URL shortener, and share that on your business card. (goo.gl probably won't go away soon, but there are others too.)  I agree that it would be nice to look up people without being signed in.

Hi curiousgeorge61,

I'd recommend any of these options below as direct links to share your iNat presence with folks who don't need to be logged in (some of which have already been mentioned earlier in the thread, but putting them all together here for convenience):
http://www.inaturalist.org/observations?place_id=any&subview=grid&user_id=curiousgeorge61 (or other view variations like map or list--the url changes when you click on the different views, even if your browser might not readily display that (ahem--Safari!))

As an aside, it is awesome that your profile includes the day you were introduced to iNaturalist :-) I wish I remembered exactly! You must have a really low user number (<iNat geek out> you can find your own by hovering over "profile" in the dropdown under your username in the upper right when you are logged in. OOH! I found yours! You are 741! Only 3 digits! I found it by hovering over "Follow curiousgeorge61" on your profile page. </iNat geek out>)
