I have noticed that for several species of snakes the common names are not correct one example is the Northern Watersnake (as iNaturalilst shows it) but it is usually Northern Water Snake in most herp related writings. also, Eastern Milksnake is Eastern Milk Snake. just thought I'd point that out.

If you see something wrong with a taxon, you can navigate to the taxon page and click Curation>Flag for curation and leave a short note for a curator to investigate. In addition, if a common name is missing from the website, you can add it yourself if you go to the taxon page, click the Taxonomy tab, scroll to bottom, and choose "Add a name" on the bottom right.

There is no set authority for common names on iNaturalist but for what it's worth,The Reptile Database, iNaturalist's authority on scientific names for reptiles, does call them eastern milksnakes and many other sites do have milk and snake conjoined e.g.

Though many other sources, at a quick glance, do have the names joined, though separated seems to be more common.

I wouldn't call them "incorrect," possibly just less frequently in use in certain parts of the world or among certain groups of people.
