Options for embedding project observations / maps into project website.

I'm now contemplating using it for a project for reporting camas
observations this spring in south-central British Columbia, Canada.
But I have a few questions.
Is it possible to have a widget with more than just the observations
embedded in a website? Could a map of all project observations be
included, rather than linking back to the iNaturalist.org website?
Is it possible to export/integrate the iNat observations into my own
mySQL database, which I use to generate a map on my own website? This
database includes herbarium speciman data and oral reports to be
verified, as well as other fields not necessarily included in iNat.
For a project, is it possible to request that users fill in some of
these other fields? Maybe in the notes section?

Sure, there are a couple ways to do this (or something like it). The
simplest way is to use the iframe-friendly version of a project and
embed that in an iframe on your site. Here's the URL for the Animals
in Urbania project:
http://www.inaturalist.org/projects/animals-in-urbania?iframe=true
It just occurred to me that we haven't documented that or mentioned it
on the widget page, so I'll fix that. If you go to the project
observations page (e.g.
http://www.inaturalist.org/observations/project/animals-in-urbania)
you'll see a link in the lower right for a KML feed. You could also
overlay that on a Google Map on your own site if you're a programmer
and know how to use the Google Maps API (sounds like you are/do).

This is possible but please respect people's licensing and geoprivacy
choices. If you go to the observations page for your project, you'll
see a CSV download link next to the KML link. The CSV will include
information about licensing and geoprivacy. Keep in mind that by
contributing to a project that you curate, contributors are trusting
you not to misuse their private or obscured coordinates, so please
don't publish them.

Not yet, but it's something we're working on. The only current
alternative is to encourage your participants to do like you said and
add extra detail in the description or in the tags.
