Security alerts when using google login

Hi all -

I noticed that inaturalist asks me for Google permissions anew, every single time I'm trying to log into my account. Recently, google has in addition begun to send out a daily security alert about a "new" associated account. 

Is the oauth system for Google identities broken? Are you aware of the issue?

Just to confirm, I get the same behaviour for the past day or so.

Checking with our devs, we haven't changed anything regarding Google log in in the last four years, so it's possible this is a change on Google's end. We'll look into it further.

As Thomas says, the problem with accepting the association each time has been around for a long time, but the additional email started recently. Maybe its just coincidental timing, but I noticed the look of the login screen has recently changed, so maybe it is related (or just something Google did)?

I hope it is something that can be fixed.
