Greetings Naturalists,
After a few months of dividing our coding time between new features and security, iNaturalist is finally an open source project: http://github.com/inaturalist/inaturalist/tree/master
If you consider one of your talents to be programming, GIS, or biology, please read on. Otherwise, continue enjoying iNaturalist as you have been. We will check in from time to time for input on new features.
By open sourcing iNat, we hope to:
* allow anyone to contribute code to the project
* provide a starting point for groups building similar systems
If you wish to help others explore the natural world, please send iNaturalist a message and we will work together to make the site a more powerful resource.
