Spammers?

Could it be that we have spammers on iNat?  This is what I just received from someone who has made no observation:

Alas, we have had waves of spammer on iNat for years, but I think
they're just figuring out the messaging system. I've suspended this
user and will build a spam flagging tool for messages. Please holler
if you guys notice more.

I just got a message from them too and was trying to figure out if I should suspend them but I see you beat me to it!  Definitely seemed to be spam as I got the same message - twice.  Also they had no observations or IDs.
