When will expontial growth of inaturalist tail off?

I've been amazed at how the usage of inaturalist seems to nearly double every year.  This trend has been happening for many years now.  Any predictions when this might tail off?  It can't go on this trend forever.

How much of it is new users vs more observations from old users?

From looking at the stats and my own personal experience it's more new users.  Some existing users ramp up their observations over time, but others often have a surge of new observations right off the bat as they go through existing photos they had taken before iNat and can now add. And of course some users leave the site for one reason or another.
