Can you say a little more about what you're looking to do exactly?

If you're looking to use iNaturalist to collect data, you can try using existing or custom observation fields to track different types of information.

Hello Treefor ...   we at NatureWatch NZ put out a manual about monitoring: http://naturewatch.org.nz/pages/monitoring_nature_guide_nz .  There is a section on using a project to record structured information : http://naturewatch.org.nz/projects/ecological-restoration-plant-monitoring ; We are still waiting for iNaturalist to build the promised monitoring platform complete with site metadata recording capability. anyway this monitoring project is a workaround - you can specify one record to be index species to attach all the metadata (so this doesn't have to be repeated ad nauseum), you can specify whether the species record is also the one that has the plot data (e.g. overall cover), and you can specify an indentifying code for an individual if you are measuring it (as a sample or as a permanent plot with a number individual). This will work with yr iNaturalist user details, but you may wish to construct your own version of this with the custom fields of your choice (click on 'add a record' to see the required and optional custom fields for this project - they are quite comprehensive).  You can use Tags to specify the plot number/details. You could widget this onto another website or construct a more sophisticated API to do all this more seamlessly.  I would urge iNaturalist to get on with developing this type of capability as we are losing a lot of potential adopters and science supporters who also need to get something out of their (identification) support for iNaturalist. Other products then reinvent the wheel whereas these capabilities could generate more income for iNaturalist and avoid the confusion of multiple platforms doing similar things. cheers colin

Thanks , bouteloua and Colin Meutk

I workaround by create a project and an add two fields.
Field add : field:height in cm., field:status (a,b,c,d,e,f or l)

When I use through Smart Phone after I  take a picture , I go to add to project and update data of height in cm. and status so I can get data from Smart Phone . When I use export function , I can choose two more fields and export in CVS format.

We start to seedling  Shorea roxburghii  this year , and will grow at Maetamund Forest by June 2019.

This is an prototype phase of how to collect data.
But I have another issue of language after export in CVS format, the font code do not match in Thai language.

Thanks

The next issue is , how GPS data could separate two tree in 8 meter length and have difference Lat. and Long.
If GPS get difference value in computer term , we can use this for separate one from another.
This one I have to test it at the real site.

To Database administration

For the Font Code is not correct.
I had and experience on ORACLE Finance and ORACLE Database, This one may look like , Database setup problem that I once met when using ORACLE Database. May be the parameter file of database or SQL that generate export do not set NLS_Lang for Thai Language.

Have I to add new topic on this issue ?
Thanks

I workaround the font code error by extract cvs file and open with Notepad and save in UTF-8 or Unicode(UTF-8) and open with OpenOffice.
