"common names suck"

I'd like to put my vote in for allowing users to have more control over how they see taxon names.

Quite frankly, I don't EVER want to see common names AT ALL (except possibly in a list, e.g., when I click on a button or drop-down list that contains common names).

I realize this doesn't work for everyone, esp. the general public, but it's quite annoying for me to see common names pop up everywhere, and especially that they are in larger/colored fonts/etc.

I think the solution would be to allow a personal "control panel" for each account with parameters to allow folks to choose which names they'd like to see (and/or in which order).

Do others agree with this need?

Is it a possibility for this to be addressed (somehow)?

P.S. - ...and I WOULD like to see FAMILIES associated with EVERY NAME displayed! :)

Philip, this has been discussed in previous threads like this one and this one. It would be best to add a comment to one of those rather than starting a new thread.
