Highlight available paths between two points

I'm new to qgis and very sorry if this is a simple question to ask. IS there a way to highlight the available paths (roads) between two selected points in a road map(in qgis) ? I want to find the possible routes between two points in map, which less than or equal to a specified distance. For example, highlighting the roads(paths) between point A and point B which are less than 5km (if available). And the two points are selected by the user on map, using mouse clicks.

You can try using the 'road graph plugin. Enable it in the plugin manager:

 

And then it will create a panel under the legend where you can define start and end points.

However it won't do exactly what you are asking since it will show only the shortest routable path and not the longer alternatives and also not a threshold maximum distance.

By the way we have plans to integrate this library with InaSAFE to provide a tool to map routes between IDP camps and affected areas.
