Hi all

As stated in the subject line, we would like to postpone releasing 4.0 to allow for one more month of polishing. The whole team has been working really hard to get InaSAFE 4.0 release ready but there are still many paper cut's that need to be resolved, and we would like to have a feature freeze period so that more extensive testing and documentation work. As such I would like to propose that we update the release schedule to:

16 Jan 2017 - release InaSAFE 4 Beta 2
2 Feb 2017 - feature freeze with focus on documentation and translation work, bug fixing
16 Feb 2017 - release InaSAFE 4.0 Final

Do the timings represent issues for anyone? Any other comments or suggestions? We will appreciate your patience, there are many fine new additions coming in InaSAFE 4.0 but we need to make sure they are well tested and ready for production before we make the release.

Regards

Tim

Hi Tim,

Thank you for the update, it sounds good me. It will be important to have the documentation updated on the new features including the new way to develop impact function, new TC impact function, etc... so it makes sense to me to postpone.

Best,

Vivien

Hi

Thanks for your feedback below Vivien. Just to mention I also chatted with Charlotte about the proposed change in schedule and she is also happy that we wait.

Regards

Tim

Hi Tim

As you mentioned; this has been discussed and I'm fine with the new schedule.  I've also discussed with colleagues at GA and they are fine with a release in February. They have a schedule to be teaching with it and the new cyclone analysis in April. so +1 for Marco to add his bits and for all involved to ensure the documentation is in good shape.

Regards,
Charlotte
