So, i decided to re-use Magic Launcher again recently, but i've been having some problems getting it working. I wanted to do a dry run test of vanilla 1.18.1 to just see if this launcher still works, but after i select the jar and go to test; i get this Java error:
The MC version is also a ??? as the launcher cant recognize it. I think the setup is pointed the to the wrong path of Java on my PC, but unfortunately thats where i have another problem. Every time i go to look for the right folders and files within the launcher, they dont show up. As a matter of fact, basically nothing shows up on my any of my drives. It sounds like a read/write permission issue, but i ran magic launcher as an admin and still same issue. Is there anyone who still uses this program that can help me out? Appreciate any advice here.
Thanks for the update! How can i point my magic launcher java location to the right installment of Java on my PC? im fairly certain i have java 17 installed already, but it might just be a location pointing issue. Whats the default install location for Java 17?
I'm not overly familiar with Magic Launcher because of the aforementioned but because it's not a cracked launcher, generally trusted by ethical players. Unfortunately there is no official site for this application so I wasn't able to direct you to any official support, however, the swath of support and tutorials for troubleshooting problems is wide with some even appearing on Minecraftforum.net and MinecraftSix, two places it can be obtained directly and are trusted among ethical players.
Hello, I am trying to use Magic launcher and it does not work all download links I can find either don't work or the launcher is basically a .jpeg and I need the task manager to close it. and lastly, I don't think if I find a working one the login will not work due to being a Mojang login. if any body has a working Magic Launcher that can log in with Microsoft please send me a download, thank you for your time reading this.
Magic Launcher (1.12.2, 1.11.2) is a new Minecraft launcher which can load mods dynamically without changing or patching the minecraft.jar. It is a programme that helps players install Minecraft mods just through some simple steps. The way Magic Launcher operates is completely independent and does not modify the original files of the game. Because of the friendly and easy-to-use interface, Magic Launcher is the best choice for those having difficulty installing mods in the traditional way.
Also if you click 'Options', it will tell you the version, location of the '.minecraft' folder and the launcher version, as well as the language, news and 'Close after login' checkbox. It will tell you the latest version of magic launcher so you don't have to end up going to the website over and over again, looking for an update.

It drops me to about 10-15 FPS, anyway to fix it? Tekkit has 6b of ram on it, even with 2gb,...no difference. Graphics are all low/etc. My computer can easily run 60FPS... It's not JUST Tekkit, but ANY program in the technic launcher (and any other launcher, like magic launcher)
I have a Dell XPS 15z laptop. It has two GPUs: a shitty Intel chipset for low power video applications and a GeForce GT 525M for 3D performance applications. It's supposed to automagically switch between the two depending on the application. Something about the technic and magic launchers breaks this automagic. It looks like Nvidia had to carve out a special exception in the driver for Minecraft, since it runs within a java host machine. I suspect that the core issue is that the Mojang launcher runs minecraft.jar by way of javaw.exe (no console environment), while the technic launcher and magic launcher run it via java.exe.
To get technic/tekkit/yogsbox/magic launcher running on the right GPU, open the Nvidia Control Panel. Go to the "Manage 3D settings" section. Pop over to the "Program Settings" tab. Click the "Add" button. Browse to java.exe. The location will vary depending on your OS and java version. On my 64-bit system with Java 7 it is:
Using the new launcher, you can now install and update all Gameforge games and manage your accounts, all at the click of a button! The launcher also provides an improved patching process, always keeping Runes of Magic up to date.
You can now log in directly via the new launcher. Simply sign in with your Gameforge account details. You will no longer need your account names: all you need is your email address. Then you can select the RoM account you want to play on.
Launcher works by allowing you to associate a 'magic word' with each application you want to be easily able to start. You can also specify up to 4 different starting locations for the main window associated with the application.
When you want to launch a particular application, you first press the Launcher hotkey and then start typing in the'magic word' for that application. Launcher will try and guess the 'magic word' you are typing so you won'tnormally have to type it all in. When the correct 'magic word' is displayed, you can press , , , or to open it up at a pre-configured location on one of your monitors.
Initially this displays icons for the 8 'magic words' that you have used the most, although thisis configurable. As you start typing your 'magic word', only the icons for the 'magic words'that start with the same letters that you have typed are displayed. Also the edit box highlightsthe rest of the word that it thinks you are typing. You can either continue typing until it displaysthe 'magic word' you want or you can use the up and down arrow keys to cycle through the alternatives or you can click on the correspondingicon with the mouse.
To add a new 'magic word', you can:
When entering the magic word in the entry form, if you press or ,then the application will be started up at position 1, if specified. Similarly , and will open up at Start Position 2/3/4.'HotKeys' options
Normally your magic words are not loaded until they are first needed.Selecting this means the magic words will be loaded when DMT first starts up. This may make starting up a bit slower, but the first time you try to enter a magic word,it should be a bit more responsive.
It is possible to have multiple applications with the same 'magic word' so that when that 'magic word' is entered they are all started up at the same time. Also the same application can be added multiple times with different 'magic words'.
When first run, Launcher will generate magic words for all of the internal commands available within DMT.For example the magic word "NextScreen" will be added to move the active window to the next screen.
When you launch an application via its 'magic word', Launcher will start waiting for theapplications window to open. If an application first launches a splash screen or perhaps some other dialog box first, then it isimportant that Launcher can detect the correct window as being the main window. To do this you can specify the Window classand/or a regular expression to match against the window's caption. There is a configurable timeout (60 seconds by default)after which Launcher will give up looking for the window. In most cases specifying the windows class is the best route, except for applications that use the same window class for the splash screen and the main window, or those that generatea different class name every time they run. A bit of experimentation should reveal the best terms to use.
