I have noticed this happens every time there is a windows update. It's so frustrating. I have a lot of TV show files I watch via Roku Media player and sometimes it is weeks before I can get it to work again.

We appreciate you letting us know about your streaming issues with Roku Media Player. We want to collaborate with you to determine what went wrong. Please tell us more details so that we can better understand the problem you are having.

I have actually contacted and spoken with someone at Roku, and they went through all kinds of trouble shooting steps with me. Uninstalling and reinstalling the app, they tried all kinda of things. They then escalated it and I have never heard anything back, this was months ago now, so Roku apparently has no intention of getting back to me to resolve the problem. It is very frustrating. When I go to my media folders and try to go to a video, it says there is no compatible media in that folder, even though all my video's are M4A files and work just fine 90% of the time. They there will be a window's update and poof it doesn't work again. No settings have been changed. It says sharing is enabled

To ensure prompt and effective support, we will forward your concern to the Roku team responsible for addressing such matters. We kindly request you provide additional information regarding the issue to expedite the resolution process. This will enable us to investigate the matter more thoroughly and address the issue in this matter. Please provide the information below:

After gathering the necessary information, we will send it to the Roku team that specializes in investigating such matters. They will conduct a thorough analysis of the details you have provided and proceed to take the necessary action to resolve the issue.

If simply says "No compatible media found" when I try to access folders containing my video files. They are compatible I have watched them before and any new files I have added since the latest issue with this occurred can be viewed, just not the prior ones. My files are all MP4 files which are compatible files.

By the way I was told the same thing when I contacted Roku about this issue two months ago and there has been no change and nobody has ever gotten back to me about it. Not very good customer service shown there.

We have taken note of the information you've provided with us, and we appreciate you for providing it. We'd like to confirm one more information that we can provide to the appropriate Roku team as an update regarding this issue. May we know if you're using a USB or a DLNA (Digital Living Network Alliance) to access your files on the Roku Media Player?

My files are on an external hard drive attached to my computer that is sharing the files with devices in my home network. I don't know if that is considered a DLNA because I have never heard of that before.

Kindly be advised that we have forwarded the issue you have brought to our attention to the appropriate Roku team for further investigation. We'll provide further updates regarding the issue once we hear back from the team.

Been looking all over the place for a fix for this but can't find anyone with the same problem as me. I recorded some audio with my friend for a Youtube video, and the audio file sounds PERFECTLY fine playing through the media player on my computer. However, when I put it into premiere pro, THEN it sounds really clicky and sort of cuts out a lot for his audio only.

We were recording through a dual XLR microphone setup using streamlabs OBS. We've done this a million other times and have never had the issue before. Recording in 48khz and the sequence setting in premeire is set to the same thing. Premiere pro doesn't detect it as variable frame rate either. I've tried setting my default input in audio hardware to "No Input" and setting the latency higher too, neither seemed to work.

I've tried every solution I've been able to find for similiar sounding issues but none of them fix the weird clicking noise. Exporting it also has the clicking noises too. Any solutions anyone might have would be much appreciated!

I attached two examples. The one with the black background is the audio as it sounds in premiere, it has the weird staticy/clicky noise. The one with the green background is the one playing out of the media player, it sounds normal.

I've had this problem too, the crackly static sound that only shows up after exporting it. It's happened several times. It's infuriating that this keeps happening and ruining my videos AND that there appears to be no fix for it or a desire to fix it.

I just updated my Macbook Air to Sonoma 14.3. I would like to download VLC Media player as this machine will not play RAM or WMA files. I tried from VLC and a few other sites, but get strange messages. Any hints?

Only download software directly from the developer's official website or mirrors. Downloading apps from anywhere else is very risky since they could have malware in them, or they may also include other apps (either explicitly stated, or most times without any explicit notice).

I just downloaded both the Intel & Apple Silicon Mac versions of VLC from that link and I had no troubles....I even launched those apps without any problem. It really helps if you posted the error messages you received as they may contain clues. Even better, post a screenshot of the error messages, but if they are not in English, then please provide translation of the text. If you can download the .dmg file, then make sure to verify the download has not been corrupted or modified by verifying the SHA256 checksum the developer provides to verify the download is intact. To verify the checksum, you need to use the following command in the Terminal app (this is just a template I'm showing here now.....the "

If you downloaded this file into your Downloads folder, then assuming the file name is still the same as what I just downloaded, then you could just copy & paste the following command depending on whether you download the Intel version or the Apple Silicon version:

Or you can start by typing "shasum -a " making sure to leave at least one space after the "-a ". Then drag & drop the VLC .dmg file from the Finder onto the open Terminal window so that macOS autofills the correct path to the VLC .dmg file (the path will look a bit different from what I've shown here even if the download is within your Downloads folder). Press the "Return" key to submit the command which will produce a long line of seemingly random letters & numbers. This long line of seemingly random letters & numbers is the hash code.

Compare this with the SHA-256 number shown on the VLC download page..... you will need to click on the "Display checksum" link before the SHA-256 hash code is displayed. See the following screenshot for an example when downloading the Apple Silicon version:

Try downloading VLC while booted into Safe Mode. If this works, then it means you have some third party software installed which is interfering with the normal operation of macOS. Typical culprits are anti-virus apps, cleaning/optimizer apps, and third party security software....none of which are needed on a Mac. These types of apps usually cause more problems than they solve. Uninstall them by following the developer's instructions.

Maybe either your macOS or your router has been configured (accidentally or by malware) to redirect traffic elsewhere so you are not actually getting the correct site. Something is wrong with your setup somewhere.

Thanks, but this seems to be availabe for Windows 64bit, iOS, iPad iOS, and Apple TV. When clicking on VLC 3.0.20, it leads to a News Archive page. Clicking on the VLC 3.0.20 what appears to be a link does nothing. I also tried downloading for Mac OSX, and it looks like it just leads to other sites. I tried both again in safe mode with same results. I did not put any third party apps nor anything on this machine.

Maybe try to install Anki 2.1.32 and update to the latest mpv version by downloading from -player-windows/files/64bit/ and copying everything to C:\Program Files\Anki to replace mpv.exe. Then restart Anki.

By Windows audio manager do you mean the volume mixer? The green bars show that the audio is being played by mpv and can be heard with headphones. Does it work, i.e. you could see the green bar and hear the sound, if you press R or click the replay button in Anki.

Could you reproduce it with the same file and without Anki?
Yes, i plays with windows media player. But, i guess i found the core of the problem, its the mpv. I dragged same file that i played with wmp to mpv, and there was no sound.
