Hello, all Nonsuchers. I'm happy to announce that we will be kicking off this year's bulk order for swim platforms and the good news is that prices have remained unchanged from last year.

For the past seven years I've coordinated the bulk ordering of swim platforms for our Nonsuch group. To date there have been 3 dozen swim platforms made for the 26s, 30s and 33s shipped to locations in Canada and the U.S. Stainless Outfitters is currently designing a platform for the 22 for both inboard and outboard motors.

To achieve bulk order pricing we should ideally have a minimum order of 5 platforms.

The following represents the current pricing. Please note that it is expressed in Canadian dollars and is exclusive of taxes and shipping.

Platform with  3/4" Starboard polymer(off white) decking, telescoping 4 step
ladder (mounted under platform) & mid transom step/grab bar...................................$1770.00

Replacement stern rail gate w/ pelican hook, pvc coated wire & shackles.........................$85.00

If you would like to participate or simply have further questions please send me an email.

Ron,

I note from the pix you supplied featuring Born to Run that  starboard panels have replaced the individual slats that came with my order several years ago.

While I am very satisfied with my purchase, I have two minor concerns that I wish to correct (eventually).

First, the outboard centre slat on my platform made of Starboard is now sagging because of traffic that is centred there --  the panels on Born to Run look as if they might avoid this issue. I will contact Stainless directly to learn if these panels can be retrofitted to my set-up.

Second, my entire platform angles down aft -- I did not shim the support arms to account for the normal transom angle which I think is 5 degrees. Do the current platforms account for this angle?

Thanks for your continued involvement in this program -- your efforts are appreciated!

Hi Bill, if you take a close look at the pictures I sent you'll notice that the support legs terminate in a "universal joint" type of fitting. This fitting can account for any transom angle that it meets.

Older models of the swim platform upper 4 support legs were fixed and occasionally required shimming on some boats to accommodate the minor 5 degree rake aft of the transom. If you decide to correct this downward angle on your boat it is easily done however you will need two new lower support legs as well as the shims.

If you would more info regarding this fix please email me at alp...@sympatico.ca and we can discuss it further.

Regards......Ron

Hi William, I'll copy Stainless Outfitters to let them know that they have another late order. I'll need the following info from you to proceed. Regards.......Ron

Here's the info I need to be able to place your order:
- Name & full shipping address
- Phone number
- Boat Size & Boat Name
- Type of platform sole (none or Starboard)
Note: if Starboard is chosen a Starboard tread will be made up to replace the single teak tread currently in the middle of the transom.....if you have one. If you don't have a mid transom step one will be made up for you along with the Starboard tread. Please let me know if you currently have a mid transom step.
- Stern Rail Gate
Note: Since you will be switching to a telescoping ladder a lifeline stern rail gate with pelican hook will be made up for you. Currently there are two drop over tangs that secure your ladder. These will need to be cut off and the new gate installed. To make up this gate I will need the current hole-to-hole distance.
- Special instructions (if any)
e.g. Would you like a couple of stainless loops welded to the swim platform to tie dinghies to?
Do you have special timing issues such as the boat being launched very early in the season.
Stainless Outfitters will contact you around February when construction begins to finalize any construction items, payment and shipping details. The platforms are usually ready for shipping in March.
