Hello all, the intake protection basket for the coolant motor's system clogs regularly and the engine overheats. Has anyone found a way to reduce the presence of algae rising in the system?

Also, Jean, I’ve learned the hard way that having 90 deg turns in the lines to and from the strainer can cause problems with debris getting caught in the bends.  Avoid them at all costs!!

I learned to avoid / reduce this problem was to close sea valve intake as soon as the engine was shut off
Safe sailing
