Let's do this again from the top - Take 2 -The Discourse phone app that Thor mentioned is basically a version of our website squished down and arranged so that it fits on your phone. It is a very quick and simple way to check the site, see new postings, and reply if you want. The Discourse Hub (as it's called) is available for free from Google Play and the Apple store.
=====Our site is nonsuch.discourse.group (the same as our website address). You need to supply the site name and then login the first time you use the app.=====Click on the Discourse icon on your phone and you get:

It opens the main page. In the upper right, I see that I have a personal message. In the middle, I see that there have been some postings since my last visit to our forum. When I click on the first topic (it has had 9 replies), it opens the first post in that topic that I have not yet seen:

The top left has a person's photo (or their first initial if they have not added a photo to their profile). The bottom right shows the reply button. That opens a typical email-like reply window:

In that window there are a few things available:1 - click this to get some typical email text formatting stuff (bold, etc.)2- click and you open and can review the topic without closing your reply3 - here is the usual send or trash4 - this is an upload button for pictures, etc. Some members included their boat and location as part of the name that appears on the top of their postings, some did not. If you click on their picture or initial, it will open a little info card about the person. It shows their boat and location, and the "about me" info if any was entered. This is also a way to send them a message:

So, instead of using an email app, you can use the Discourse hub to see what's going on, plus reply to postings (basically the same as you would if replying to an email). And that's the Discourse phone app in two minutes or less.... (OK, plus the two minutes before)Jon Lewit
