Where is "Sailcare", Bill ??  One quick note about sail cleaning: These cleaning processes work way better on NON-LAMINATED sails i.e. sails made strictly of one layer of fabric, ideally dacron, cotton, etc.  My former boat, Moustaches, came with a very good but old and beaten up Nor-Lam laminated sail from North Sails. It was awash with grey, horrible mildew.

Mildewed sails can be cleaned and improved by a good sail cleaner but only if they are non-lam. The mildew in my old sail was actually in the adhesive that bonded the laminations together. It was uncleanable, for that reason. Something to think about.

I think you're talking about SailCare in Ford City, Pennsylvania, https://sailcare.com/, is that right, Bill?

I've heard of them but don't have any experience with them.

I'd recommend checking into shipping costs if they aren't local to you; I was shocked at how much it cost to ship a sail by UPS when I did it a few years ago, and prices have only gotten worse.

Practical Sailor published a reasonable article on sail cleaning about five years ago.  I don't know if this link works for non-subscribers, but here it is: https://www.practical-sailor.com/boat-maintenance/quick-and-safe-sail-cleaning

I used Sailcare for my N30U about 6 years ago.  I was overall pleased with their work and would do it again though I know my N33 sail will be challenging compared to the N30.
Sail weight for shipping via FedX came close to 80lbs and maybe that was the shipping cost in dollars.
With your Maryland address it could be good opportunity to drive the sail up there and get a tour of their operation….and report your observations to our INA group.

I've used Sailcare, will use them again.  I had a furling genoa on my previous boat reconditioned with their LaMauney process, and it was pretty remarkable- the sail was like new.  It can't change the shape if the sail is "blown out", but mine still had its shape.  I also had them shorten the sail by 10% (it was a 140% and I was always partly furling or ditching the main) as well as add a sun protection strip (it didn't have one)  and was happy with their sail work. Five years later, I had it done, wanting to keep the sail if it was still in decent shape, and asked them to evaluate whether I should get a new one.  They said since I wasn't racing, the shape should be fine.  Each time, it cost me, with shipping, about 1/3 the cost of a new sail.

I used Sailcare quite a few years ago.  The process caused some shrinkage. i think I lost about 4" in a 10" foot, with corresponding reductions elsewhere. I wasn't happy.

Thanks Daniel.
My sail is a 2003 built by North in Annapolis for me.
I am tempted to buy a new one but I don’t race and North cleans a repairs it  but each season the price goes up.

Update,
Sailcare in PA. No longer services Nonsuch sails due to personnel issues.

Bill - Try Bacon Sails in Annapolis. They ship them out to some reputable sail cleaner in bulk.

One more option that I found looking for the same thing: sailbritemidwest.com

No direct experience, Phil the owner seems responsible, the view reviews I found online also seem promising, and their prices look like 50% off compared to other places. The biggest issue for me is going to be the cost of shipping from California.
