The N30 #335 that I purchased at the end of March is ready for the water and I need to get it in quickly. The mast was never taken down (which how to pull the tapered mast is a question for another time) but the wishbone was lowered to the deck. I want to clean the wishbone without turning it into another major project and am looking for ideas to just make it smooth and clean. My thought is a white scotch-brite pad with soap and water but I'm sure I am not the first to do this and will appreciate any suggestions.

Thanks everyone, I’ll do the reading. The issue is that I want to store the boat at a small boatyard next winter and the concern expressed there was holding onto the mast with their crane.
