I received a $9500 quote from a local loft for a Doyle StackPack system including both sail and cover.  The cover is $2750 of the amount and the balance for the sail which I spec'd as a middle of the road cruising sail.

For those that have quoted or purchased such a setup in the past few years, is that price consistent with what you've been quoted or paid?

Also was wondering if anyone who owns a Doyle StackPack or MackPack has any video of it in use?

Thanks

Jeff

Hi Jeff;
I had a similar sailcover, one piece, zippered up the front of the mast, that remains permanently in the hangars, made by Genco Sails, in Toronto for about $1,100.00

Works great.

Jeff,

Serenity II is now without a sail due to the fact that I am having a Doyle stack pack made for her that will be installed later this week.  My Cost, including the add'l blocks and hardware required for the outboard reefing came to considerably less than your figure.  I also looked into the Mack Pack before making my decision.  Another Nonsuch Captain recently purchased one from Mack and after discussing the pack with him, despite the lower price of the Mack, I decided to go with Doyle.  My sail is almost new so that was not an issue.

Reef early,

I bought my Stact-Pack for my 30 from Doyle and had it attached to my sail in I believe 2005. It cost me $2000 back then.  I considered it one of my best investments.
As Allen Ames told me back then ( Yes, it is expensive, but I find that I sail more because of the ease of use).  I found that true as well.

The Stack-Pack (sp?) was one of the best investments I ever made.  ACCEPT NO SUBSTITUTES!  When they say, "It's like a Stack-Pack", DO NOT BELIEVE THEM! They are all significantly inferior.  (And NO, I have no financial interest in the company.)

As an old friend once said, "Officially, it costs nothing: IT'S FOR THE BOAT!"  If the government can carry millions of dollars "off-budget", a boat owner should be able to treat ESSENTIAL boat equipment the same way.

Welcome to Nonsuchland Richard!

We received  the same StakPak quote from Josh at Doyle and ordered one a few weeks ago - Josh should be installing the new sail cover in October.

I bought Wind Rose in Semiahmoo in 2015 - great place to sail!

Best regards

Josh put a stack pack on our 30C, 3 or 4 years ago now.  He was good to work with and we've really enjoyed having it.

The otters who we're thwarted from making our sail their condo were less impressed.
