The Get Your Business Online program is launching across the country, one state at a time. They have held events in Connecticut, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, and Wisconsin with the help of strong local partnerships in each state.
 
·         Allows businesses to create and host a website for free (very basic site)
·         After one year, to continue hosting the site, it is a nominal fee of $5 per month
·         Google will be hosting a free launch event for KY businesses in Louisville on May 29th. We encourage businesses that would like to have an online presence to attend.
·         The event will include workshops as well as the opportunity to set up a website
·         If the business cannot attend the event they can visit www.kentuckygetonline.com and create a site from there. This site will be available until May 2013.
 
Kick Off Event – Kentucky Get Your Business Online
  • May 29th, 2012
  • Location: The Henry Clay, 604 S. Third Street, Louisville, KY 40202
  • 8am to 5pm
  • Three tracks of workshops:
    • Build a free website 1.5 hours
    • Grow your business online 1 hour
    • Promote your business online 1 hour
  • The workshops accommodate ~75 people
  • We expect between 300-500 total attendees.
  • Online expo staffed with Google gurus providing one on one consulting
