“Land of Culture”

International Training Course

Baku, Azerbaijan

01-07 April 2011

 

Training Course Description:

Youth Exchange” Public Union would like to invite 24 young people from 10 European countries to Baku for 7 day-training about intercultural and inter-religious dialogue. Purpose of our training is to give a deep knowledge to participants about intercultural and inter-religious dialogue and facilitate this process. This training will find the best way of living all together. This project aims to find out similarities and differences of the culture and heritage of different nations.  By getting in intercultural dialogue participants will have a chance to encourage greater involvement of young people in shaping their heritage value opportunities, inform and influence peace education policy and practice, develop and explore models of practicing peace education and learning for building bridges between nations. We want to present our heritages and our cultures. This project also supports regional collaboration among the countries. By demonstrating their national heritage and culture during this training participants will have a chance to experience real intercultural dialogue.

 

 

 

Training Course Methodology:

The Training will focus on different methods using non-formal education in working with key concepts. The programme of the course will be conducted using an interactive and participative approach. A team of experienced trainers will design and carry out the programme of the course, based on the experiences, needs and knowledge of the participants. Intercultural dialogue, inter-religious dialogue, as well as theoretical inputs will characterise the programme of the course. Methodology of this training course is based non-formal education, intercultural, individual, experiential and experience-based learning. It is composed of a balanced mixture of non-formal learning methods, including energizers, getting to know each other, working group sessions and inputs by the trainers. The main activities of the project are: presentations, discussions, exploration work and different forms of multicultural education and additional methods.

 

 

 

Target group:

·        Youth leaders, Youth workers, Youth Trainers, Project managers from youth NGOs, Youth Group, Youth Networks, Youth Organisations

·        Youth leaders who are interested in Intercultural dialogue

·        Youth NGOs, Youth Group, Youth Networks, Youth Organisations that wants to be a partner for this project

·        Active members of organizations and youth groups, local youth councils willing to develop further activities and act as multipliers within their organizations

·        Be motivated to develop their knowledge and competence the specific field and to share their experiences with other participants

·        Commit themselves to their function for future activities in the field of intercultural dialogue and be prepared to pass on the others the knowledge and skills gained during this activity.

 

 

Conditions:

The training is scheduled for 01-07 April 2011 and will be hosted in Baku Azerbaijan Republic. Financial support is under the European Commission’s “Youth in Action”-programme granting scheme. If approved, all costs will be covered except for 30% of the international travel and visa costs. Organizations from all 27 EU member countries plus Liechtenstein, Norway, Iceland and Turkey, YOUTH IN ACTION PROGRAMME countries, EECA countries are eligible to be partners. The working language of the Training Course is English.

We are planning to submit this project for 1 November deadline.

 



 

Group and duration:

Group: 2 representatives from 1 Youth Organisation, Youth Groups, from 10 countries chosen in an open call.  Now we are looking for partner organisations:

Duration will be 7 full working days (plus 2 more days: arrival and departure)

If you like the idea and the content of this activity, and if you want your organization to be partner in this project and thus be entitled to nominate for participants, then fill in the attached form (called partner promoters – part 3), sign it in blue ink, put your official stamp on it and send it by fax to (+36 66 442 720) and post to (50 Ráday Street; 1092; Budapest, Hungary) the applicant organization (we need the signature and the stamp)
