… you are either someone who signed up for the In Lieu of Fun keep in touch Google Group or you are someone I added for this email only because I think you’re interesting and want you to be involved in my newest crazy media scheme. 

To avoid spamming people’s inboxes, I will describe this scheme very briefly here. If you are interested in hearing more and perhaps getting involved, send me a note, and I will create a group just of those people only. 

As I described on the ILOF reunion show the other day, I am contemplating a live streaming show that would run as a close to 24/7 as I can make happen. It would run on a private Zoom conference, whose participants would pay $8/month for access and be able to ask questions and be part of the Greek Chorus. This cost is designed to prevent most spamming and trolling. The show would then stream to YouTube, where it will be available for free. 

I am interested in doing two things on this show myself: Weekday morning coffee and newspaper reading, which will occur as I do my morning reading, and a “Read with Me” feature that will show up episodically when, say, a major indictment or court decision comes down. 

To make this work, I will to figure out realistically, how much other time I can have covered with hosts and moderators. So here’s the question: Do you want to host a live show on a regular basis? If so, when and what time? Daily? Weekly? Monthly? Annually? Shoot me a note if you’re interested in being involved as a host. 

I am of course eager to have eccentric ideas like GDF’s and AW’s “Would You Squish?” show, but I’m also interested in academic subjects, book segments, interview shows, and shows on regional issues. So ping me with ideas. Or if you’re not ready to host but might want to help produce, let me know that too. 

My grandiose 24/7 jokes aside, I don’t have infinite time to devote to this, so I will do it at all only if a core of dedicated, responsible people are game to do it with me and take significant responsibility. Obviously, I wouldn’t be suggesting this if I didn’t think there was a possible intellectual market hole here that would be worth all of our time to try to fill.
