Dear ILOF friends:

Next Tuesday, May 23, my new book “Fancy Bear Goes Phishing: The Dark History of the Information Age, in Five Extraordinary Hacks” publishes. I would greatly appreciate if those interested in the book could pre-order it, either from here, or from your local independent bookseller. The book contains a heartfelt acknowledgment to “In Lieu of Fun,” my co-hosts and, of course, the Greek Chorus, since the book was written during the pandemic and you all helped me get through that awful experience.

I will be traveling to several cities in the next few weeks to talk about the book. I will be in San Francisco next Thursday, May 25, 5:30pm at Book Passage; New Haven, the following Tuesday, May 31, 7:00pm at RJ Julia; and Cambridge, Mass on June 8, 7:00pm at the Harvard Book Store. If you are free and available, I would love to see you there. (I will be joining a group of ILOF members after the SF event.)

For those interested, The Guardian published an excerpt from the book (“In Search of Dark Avenger, the Most Dangerous Virus Writer in the World”) last week here. Merchandise is also available here.

Thank you,

Scott
