Genesis 9:8-16 Then God spoke to Noah and to his sons with him,
saying, "Now behold, I Myself do establish My covenant with you, and
with your descendants after you; and with every living creature that
is with you, the birds, the cattle, and every beast of the earth with
you; of all that comes out of the ark, even every beast of the earth.
"I establish My covenant with you; and all flesh shall never again be
cut off by the water of the flood, neither shall there again be a
flood to destroy the earth." God said, "This is the sign of the
covenant which I am making between Me and you and every living
creature that is with you, for all successive generations; I set My
bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a sign of a covenant between Me
and the earth. "It shall come about, when I bring a cloud over the
earth, that the bow will be seen in the cloud, and I will remember My
covenant, which is between Me and you and every living creature of all
flesh; and never again shall the water become a flood to destroy all
flesh. "When the bow is in the cloud, then I will look upon it, to
remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living
creature of all flesh that is on the earth."

We finally arrive with Noah and his family back on land after the
great flood that killed all mankind and every animal. When we do the
math of how long it was, we realize an entire year has elapsed and
therefore this flooding was certainly one that totally extinguished
all life.

Archeologists have worked hard at proving or disproving this fact and
with each passing day and the advance of technology, more people seem
less likely to believe this incident as much as any other in the
Bible.

The question that keeps coming to mind is if this was really true and
what God is trying to achieve by telling us these things?

Flooding is a natural disaster that has occurred from the beginning of
time and we live on a planet where 70% of the mass is water, not land,
thereby providing validity to the issue of flooding. Rainbows are
caused by refraction and reflection of the sun's light by rain or
water droplets in the atmosphere and that is also true.

However, we do know that there have been many severe floods since this
incident during Noah's time and millions of people have died. Most
recently in Pakistan, the tsunamis in Asia, etc. Where then is God
when He made a covenant with Noah and all of mankind?

As we read verses 8-10, we note that the covenant God made with Noah
was protection from floods for everything that was in the ark
including man and every other species. When we consider the ark, we
know it offered all these species protection because they were
considered worth saving versus the rest of creation who were not.

Jesus came into the world 2,000 years ago to provide an ark of
protection to those who desperately needed it. His life, death and
resurrection provided to all mankind the perfect and only hope against
the ravages of satan and his fallen angels.

God's covenant is valid today and has always been because in His son
Jesus Christ, He provided us the perfect protection of life and no
matter what storms rage in our lives, once we are covered by the blood
of Jesus, we are God's own for eternity and we will live in His
presence regardless of flood, fire or death itself.

I pray today that you are able to see God's perfect covenant and call
on His eternal protection on your life. I pray today that you would
join me in the ark of Jesus and be saved from the savage world and the
ruler of this world, satan.

Isaiah 54:8-9“For this is like the days of Noah to Me, When I swore
that the waters of Noah Would not flood the earth again; So I have
sworn that I will not be angry with you Nor will I rebuke you. “For
the mountains may be removed and the hills may shake, But My
lovingkindness will not be removed from you, And My covenant of peace
will not be shaken,” Says the LORD who has compassion on you
