Genesis 1:26-31 Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image,
according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea
and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the
earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” God
created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male
and female He created them. God blessed them; and God said to them,
“Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it; and rule
over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over every
living thing that moves on the earth.” Then God said, “Behold, I have
given you every plant yielding seed that is on the surface of all the
earth, and every tree which has fruit yielding seed; it shall be food
for you; and to every beast of the earth and to every bird of the sky
and to every thing that moves on the earth which has life, I have
given every green plant for food”; and it was so. God saw all that He
had made, and behold, it was very good. And there was evening and
there was morning, the sixth day.

After a journey across the new testament, we now begin our journey
back in the 1st book of the Bible, a book that lays the foundation of
our faith and points us towards the coming messiah of the world, a
book that has been highly debated because it reveals the beginning of
the world, a reality most humans find impossible to get their heads
around, a myth to even many Christians!

How plausible is it that all of this occurred in just 6 days (Day 7 is
in the next chapter) and what was God's purpose in creating us, if in
fact He did?

I have always thought the greatest issue to faith is the problem of
intellect. We are a people who are capable of thinking, each for their
own selves, and we are created uniquely and individually. No two
people are alike in any way even if born of the same mother and we are
certainly the most intelligent of all creation that we have
encountered as yet.

Was this an error on God's part or was this necessary? Could He not
have created us like nature which reflects his glory, or like the
animal kingdom which prove His majesty or like the sky, planets and
stars that do nothing but magnify His name?

Verse 26 says that after 5 days of creation, God created man and
woman in His image. I do hope you note that this is the first time God
is shown as not being alone because the word used here is US. Us here
refers to God the Father, His son Jesus Christ who was also called the
First and the Last, and the Holy Spirit which hovered over the earth
(verse 2).

God created us humans and gave us everything we needed for a single
purpose, to glorify Him above everything else. This was all God
expected of us and this is the only thing that we as a creation refuse
to do!

I pray today that each of us will look around and admire the beauty of
God's creation. The air we berate is perfectly designed to sustain us,
the water we drink quenches our thirst, the food we eat is produced on
this earth, everything grows and dies without our intervention and
life seems to work not on our command but of one who is in perfect
control. I pray that we will open our hearts and minds to listen to
this great God and call on Him.

Job 38:4-8 “Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth?
Tell Me, if you have understanding, who set its measurements? Since
you know. Or who stretched the line on it? “On what were its bases
sunk? Or who laid its cornerstone, when the morning stars sang
together and all the sons of God shouted for joy? “Or who enclosed the
sea with doors when, bursting forth, it went out from the womb..."
