Genesis 7:1-5,21-24 Then the LORD said to Noah, “Enter the ark, you
and all your household, for you alone I have seen to be righteous
before Me in this time. “You shall take with you of every clean animal
by sevens, a male and his female; and of the animals that are not
clean two, a male and his female; also of the birds of the sky, by
sevens, male and female, to keep offspring alive on the face of all
the earth. “For after seven more days, I will send rain on the earth
forty days and forty nights; and I will blot out from the face of the
land every living thing that I have made.” Noah did according to all
that the LORD had commanded him... All flesh that moved on the earth
perished, birds and cattle and beasts and every swarming thing that
swarms upon the earth, and all mankind; of all that was on the dry
land, all in whose nostrils was the breath of the spirit of life,
died. Thus He blotted out every living thing that was upon the face of
the land, from man to animals to creeping things and to birds of the
sky, and they were blotted out from the earth; and only Noah was left,
together with those that were with him in the ark. The water prevailed
upon the earth one hundred and fifty days.

For a God whose very nature is love and who is considered the epitome
of love, this act of wiping out His creation that He was happy to
create seems out of character and unimaginably harsh. Imagine the cry
of all of creation as it was drowned and imagine the devastation that
occurred because of it.

Are we to come and submit to the Lord because of our fear of His wrath
and what is God speaking to us through this event?

For God who was enraged by the sinfulness of man, He certainly showed
amazing grace to the one family whom He loved because they were
faithful to Him and so the flooding of the earth was not simply a knee-
jerk reaction.

When we consider this entire plan God laid out for Noah to follow and
the provision of all the animals good and bad in the exact numbers,
and the rain that did not leave an inch of land visible to ensure
perfect destruction, we can see that this God who was angry was also
perfect in planning and therefore His rage is controlled, yet
unimaginable.

God wants us to see how much He loves us and can do for us if we are
faithful to Him and love Him with our all. Noah did not understand why
God asked Him to build an ark in a land where there was no water in
sight for hundreds of miles, he toiled for 100 years on something any
person would have considered the joke of the world, he followed God's
leading to a point of being ridiculed and scoffed but when God
delivered, Noah was vindicated because He heard His God and obeyed
Him.

God does not want us to come to Him because of His unquenchable wrath
or because we have to but He wants us to come to Him because we know
that there is no hope in ourselves and we are headed for destruction.
It is only through the shed blood of Jesus Christ, the son of God who
was fully man yet fully God Himself, that we have hope, a hope of
eternity.

I pray today that regardless of how ridiculous the world thinks this
faith is, that you are able to see the love of Christ visible to those
who are faithful and are able to submit yourself to Him for His saving
grace upon your life. Let us all get into the ark of salvation God has
created through His son Jesus Christ and let us bank our eternity on
the Faithful One!

Matthew 24:37-39 “For the coming of the Son of Man will be just like
the days of Noah. "For as in those days before the flood they were
eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day
that Noah entered the ark, and they did not understand until the flood
came and took them all away; so will the coming of the Son of Man be"
