Genesis 5:1,21-24,28-29 This is the book of the generations of Adam.
In the day when God created man, He made him in the likeness of God.
He created them male and female, and He blessed them and named them
Man in the day when they were created... Enoch lived sixty-five years,
and became the father of MethuSelah. Then Enoch walked with God three
hundred years after he became the father of MethuSelah, and he had
other sons and daughters. So all the days of Enoch were three hundred
and sixty-five years. Enoch walked with God; and he was not, for God
took him... Lamech lived one hundred and eighty-two years, and became
the father of a son. Now he called his name Noah, saying, “This one
will give us rest from our work and from the toil of our hands arising
from the ground which the LORD has cursed.”

This is a book of the generations of Adam and it makes for interesting
reading not because genealogy interests me but because it lists the
lives of men who lived nine hundred years and more importantly, among
them, it gives emphasis to two men who found favor in God's eyes,
namely Enoch and Noah.

Why would a God reveal these inconsistencies of life and how does He
expect us to trust Him with our lives based on these stories?

Living to a ripe age of 100 is not just amazing but highly
unbelievable in our day and age. There are records for people who are
the oldest alive and significant resources are being spent today to
determine how we can defeat death and extend life. The thought of
anyone living 200 years is laughed at forget 930 year old!

This is the same reason the world scoffs at Jesus Christ. He walked on
water and that is being scientifically proven to be a lie or a 'slight
of hand', He restored sight to the blind, He lifted dead people like
Lazarus back to life, He fed a multitude of more than 5,000 people
with 5 small loaves of bread and 2 fish, etc.

The problem with us is that we want to define everything in our
paradigm and are closed to the possibility that the creator of this
world works beyond creation and is not defined by His creation but
instead creates from nothing and is above everything He created.

God in His infinite wisdom created us and the galaxies around us for
His own glory and calls us to honor Him with our lives. In all the
generations of Adam, a few are recognized like Enoch and Noah because
they found favor in God's eyes.

Are you still trying to debate with the author of creation or are you
trying to get your head around how He did what He did? I would
recommend we spend our lives seeking this great God through His son
Jesus Christ who came to this earth, lived among us and showed us a
way back to the father through Him.

Genesis 1:26 Then God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according
to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over
the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and
over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth."
