Problem with Adobe Reader

Dear All

I'm having issues with Adobe reader on my mac air

Whenever I open pdf files, the computer slows down with coloured wheel rotating and system slows.

The same file when opened in Preview works fine.

Any suggestions!!!!

Further some pdf files in preview print a blank where as on appearance on screen is fine but print through Adobe is fine!!!
