Some intro to how Group module works

Hello people,
In the Internet Groups, the person who opens/starts the Group is the Owner-cum-moderator of it. For example, In 3A--it is Arindam, in 3B-- Nigel, in 3C- Sinchan.
These owners has a control provided to them , to appoint one or more MODERATORS, who have "power"/internet-control as assigned to them by the Group-Owner. These may include, to enrol more member, to change settings on how group emails are received, to dismiss a member, etc.
Owners may assign more members for a quick responses of their respective groups.
There are more things, keep looking , and keep using group systems and it will itself teach u how it works, and how business communications work to achieve transparency, increase co-ordination, knowledge enhancement, etc.

no..having email on any specific email-service provider is not required at all. try looking for settings.
he has sent an email request to u instead, from his yahoo account. U just need to approve his access.
In group email systems, there is never such a compulsion, because the system will lose its purpose. Person having email on any service-provider..yahoo, gmail, rediff, sify...whatever can join group on any of the service providers, although his controls on group may be very very slightly reduced.
